High quality, soft, heavyweight; slim fit
High quality, soft, heavyweight material, great for slender builds (6' 150lbs and size M is just right). Take note, the other reviewers are right that REI's photos of this shirt are not color accurate (The "Navy" colorway is actually dark blue almost black with deep red.)
Good shirt, awkward fit.
Like their Fjallraven shirt, sizing on here may make or break the shirt for you. Fjallraven has multiple fits for their clothing. This one happens to be slim, so it's cut pretty close to the body. I bought this in an L, which fits be best at 5'11" ~190lbs. Measures 22" pit to pit and 20.5" across the middle. Meanwhile, I wear a S in their Fjallraven shirt, which is their relaxed fit. I'm a M in most things. So here the shirt's a little long, but it's nice otherwise and I like it. So... good shirt, awkward fit.
Perfect
I was looking for a flannel thick enough to wear in the winter months in the wood shop that was fitting to my body. Most flannels are entirely too large for me and be quite the hazard when working outside or in the shop. At 6’ even and 155 pounds the medium is perfect. The arms are plenty long enough to not slide back my elbows if I raise my hands over my head, it sits low enough on my waist not to expose my skin when stretching or moving and fits my body as well as a good t shirt does. I will buy this shirt in every color as it not on is hardy and fitting but wears out and about nicely as well.
A Slim Fit Flannel!!
This is an exceptional flannel. Soft but well built. I know it is going to last. The fit is perfect for people are more slightly built. The buttons are sturdy, the pen pocket is a nice touch and the sleeve length are great and over length are perfect for tucking in or leaving untucked. The only thing I would say is the colors vary from the photos in the description. I have two, (the Arctic Green/Dark Navy & the Glacier Green). The Arctic Green is a much more deep green than the photo and the Glacier Green is in all honestly a blue/grey. I don't mind as it looks great but they do seem to be different than the photos.
Heavy, high quality slim-fit flannel
Great heavy flannel shirt. My husband looks great in it but want to say he is slim so it’s very fitted and perfect for a tall, slim torso (he got size large) but if you have more of a boxy body then this is not for you. It’s excellent to finally have shirts that feel and look tailored even for a heavy flannel. KeepThis design up, it’s great! We live in Alaska and it’s warm and perfect for winter. The quality is truly excellent, no easy snags on thr fabric and can be dressed up or down. Highly recommend
Colors not represented well on REI.com
The colors represented on REIs website are wildly different from what I received. The "Navy" color is not the burnt orange and blue but rather a very red and dark blue color (and yes, my monitor is calibrated corrected as I'm a photographer). As well as color mismatching, keep in mind this is a slim fit, and boy does it get real slim in the midsection. Shout out to all my trim friends out there, this shirt will do you well. If you're like me a have just a bit of a gut starting, I would avoid.
Perfect Fit
I’d been looking for a well-fitting flannel for years until I found this one. I hate baggy shirts. This fits me perfectly and is extremely high quality. I just wish REI offered this in the other colors that Fjallraven has, so I could buy them.
Nice shirt but poor description
Based on the REI on-line description, I ordered a size XL normal fit (normally I wear a size 46 to 48 regular fit). The shirt I received was XL but was labeled trim fit. It was tight under my arms and across my mid section. The shirt was made out of quality materials and was a nice thick flannel. I am sure if it was a regular fit and not trim fit, I would have liked it. The shirt I received did not match the on-line description and I had to pay for the return.

Too tight for a Large shirt, sleeve length is spot on but at 6' 2" and 180 pounds with a 32" waist apparently I am too fat for it

Excellent fit for a slender builds (6’ 150lbs, size M is right on, looks tailored. Soft heavyweight fabric looks and feels great. I agree with the other reviewers that REI’s photos for this shirt aren’t color accurate. The navy/burnt orange-looking one is actually red and dark navy(almost black).
