Great outdoor pants. Recently wore them on a day 2 night backpacking trip. During thes 3 days I think experienced nearly every weather possible. They did the job fantastically!
These pants are awesome, they are semi light weight and extremely durable. They have reinforced knees and seat, have plenty of pockets, and adjustable ankle cuffs. These pants also dry quickly. Now if your going for some super light weight trekking or thru hiking then maybe not for you. But for an all around durable hiking/camping/bushcraft pant, these are the best. I have used these pants year round. These pants generally fit athletically proportionate people the best, so I would not recommend if you have abnormally large thighs or buttocks, as I’ve seen people complain, but if you are proportioned and fit, or semi fit, you won’t have any issues.
Pretty jacked up how someone gives one star on here because REI doesn’t sell a specific style for woman. REI needs to vet these reviews!!! I have multiple Fjallraven products, they are all very durable. I but Fjallraven because I am sick for being part of the consumable machine. Yes they cost more, they will also last a very long time. I am 6’1” 240lbs with a 40” waist and a 31-32” inseam. I currently own three pairs of the Vidda Pros in an EU size 58. These thing can standup to anything you can throw at them. I live up in the mountains of Colorado and constantly live outside. I have been through so many different brands and these are the real deal, 100%!!!
Believe me when I say that I really wanted these pants to work for me, but unfortunately as another reviewer put it if you have decent sized legs (and an even more decent sized gluteus maximus) these probably won't fit well. The material is just too stiff around the rear end/upper legs to be able to conform to it if you have more volume in that area. And even when i buttoned them up the waist was still too big?! I thought it might be the size, and while sizing up did help a little bit the same problem still persisted... so I just couldn't justify keeping them for $150.
I have had my viddo pro pants for 2 years and have used them often in different types of weather conditions. Breathable enough to be comfortable with temps in the 80's but also versatile enough to be worn in snowy conditions with "wax" they also offer. This adds more water and wind proofing to the G 1000 material. Sturdy material, I have used these scrambling and hiking on camping trips or just around the house. After two years just showing small amounts of wear. Lots of pockets (none on your backside) put on the front and sides of the garment basically to make it easier to get a things while sitting on ground, rocks ect. Built in gaiter straps and lace hook at the bottom cuffs are great in snowy conditions if you don't have true gaiters on hand. They fit true to size, I am 6 ft 180 and wear the 33-34 which is an EU 50. Wash and hang dry (no shrinkage) reapply wax when you need more water or wind proofing. Very unique pants with lots of great features you really can't find with any other brand. I highly recommend these and this brand......really good stuff!
These pants might be a bit overkill but they’re bomber. Rocks, thorns, slides down scree, nothing seems to hurt them! And the pockets! So many well placed pockets! You’re definitely not going to want to wear these in summer as they are waxed and don’t breath the greatest but for shoulder season and winter tramps they’re great. Fit was on point, for me at least. If anything they may run slightly tight or “fitted” in the upper thigh area, but it didn’t affect mobility. Over all a solid product if your looking for pants that can run the gamut.
This is great all-season pants. I've had my pair for at least 6-7 years. They are highly durable. I've only ripped them falling on some jagged shale. Otherwise, they've stood the test of time. The material is mid-weight, heavier than your average summer pant. I bought a size 46 and I stand 5'10 and about 165lbs. They fit perfect and offer great range of motion
I was looking for a pair of water resistant pants primarily for walking my two German Shorthair Pointers in fields with long grass and weeds. The Vidda Pro pants have been the perfect fit. I stay dry in wet grass, light rain, and snow. I also layer underneath appropriately for the temperature and stay comfortable. I have been wearing my Vidda Pros for hiking around my local trails as well and I really like how lightweight and how well they perform with movement. I was a little apprehensive about the price at first, but once I received my Vidda Pros and saw the quality and have realized how versatile the pants are, I don’t regret the purchase.
I work as a forester and bought the Vidda Pro trousers based on their durability reputation. I've worn them over the last two years, alternating with trousers from another outdoor brand. Unfortunately, the Vidda Pros have not stood up to the wear and tear as I would have hoped: the seem on the elasticated cuff on the trouser leg has disintegrated, as has the stitching around the groin. The other trousers from another brand have lasted over the same period under the same conditions without fault, and are £100 cheaper. My honest review is the Vidda Pros are not worth the money, and those looking for durability for outdoor work should look elsewhere.
The quality of these trousers is immediately apparent when you first put them on. Stitching, hardware, pockets, and all the little details feel very well made and constructed. That being said, I would highly recommend you size up in the waist. The G-1000 material on these trousers is not meant to stretch, so the 44 (29") fits very tight around the waist and thighs. For reference, I am 5'6" / 140-150lbs and usually wear size 29/30 pants. A 46 (30") offers more room but definitely feels a little large. If you're going to order these online make sure you're prepared to make a return or exchange - can't stress enough how odd the sizing is.
