Renowned fjallraven hiking trousers. Huge fan of the cargo pockets being on the front of the leg vs the side. I was a little shy of them at first but soon became a fan of the side vents to help with the airflow during high exertion. Range range of motion shows off the technical cut and built in gaiters at the cuffs are a nice touch. Greenland was can be used to weatherproof the fabric. I found these pants perfect for marine west coast climate of the PNW.
Great flexibility, good pockets, good ventilation(sadly 1 way zipper). but the major con is the ankle straps, they are awful and made of weak plastic. they very very easily come undone since its like a friction belt clasp, and if the extra strap fabric gets pulled or even MOVES in the opposite direction of the clasp it comes undone (and there is a lot left that just dangles out in the air with no place to easily tuck it away). not the biggest issue since you can just buy Velcro and adjust it yourself since you can entirely remove the ankle strap, but for premium prices they need to upgrade it asap.
I really wanted this pants to be the right size for me. Unfortunately However they are way to tight across the upper thigh glut area. They fit good in the waist, the length is just right, the material feels and moves as desired. But when just standing still I couldn't get my hands in and out of the pockets easily. And when I squatted down they really got tight. I read another review saying about the same thing. So size isn't the issue. its the cut of the style.
Amazing quality but unfortunately the hinge is too low on these pants and the thighs are too tight. Every step going uphill will pull your pants down and if you use a belt you will be fighting the fabric. Waist and hip were perfect fit but on a 4 hour hike I had to pull the thigh fabric up with every step. Would be terrible for class 4 climbing.
I'm a big dude so I want to wear stuff that's functional and comfortable, but still looks good. The Abisko Lite Trekking Trousers are a dream, with the (not too) narrow legs, the super tough G-1000 Lite waxed canvas on the front, and the super pliable stretch panels where you need it. There are no back pockets, instead you get the nice front zip pockets on the upper legs. Nice place for my cell phone or passport. And these pants breathe! I climbed Mt Misen in Japan during one of the hottest summers on record, the side vents saved my life and the waxed canvas kept the bugs off me!
Love these pants for everyday and a hikes on occasion. Great material...light weight yet crazy durable. Just the right amount of stretch in the gusset so you don't feel cramped sitting on an airplane!
I wore these on a month-long hike on the Camino del Norte in June and they were comfortable in both cool and warm weather. It rained a lot and these pants were comfortable to walk in and dried out very quickly. They have side zips which I opened on hot days for ventilation. They have no rear pockets which is very comfortable when carrying a pack. I highly recommend them for hikes in changeable weather.
I have a pair in every color of these trousers, they are that good. Hey, Fjallraven, how about a few more solid colors in these? Like Mountain Blue? These trousers are the best pants I’ve ever owned, and I have the Keb, Keb Agile and Vidda Pros (some I got in Sweden almost 20 years ago) and these pants are next-level entirely. Light as a feather and flexible exactly where they should be. I wear them practically every day as I’ve never been as comfortable in any other trousers - the Keb Agile come close but they are a little more rugged and stiffer - these just feel and move in such a perfect way for me - they are so light. And since I run hot I can even use them in Oregon’s winters with a layer on underneath... I give these my highest recommendation!
Hi, per usual great product, great material. However the cuff has a band made of webbing that doesn't work properly. The webbing is too long, first, so when you draw it all the way tight it drags on the ground. Related to this problem is the fact that the webbing does not insert back into the slot in the cuff. Again it's too long. Secondly, the cinch pinches the cuff itself, so you have an awkwardly folded cuff that does not look or feel clean. If the cuff were fixed, I'd endorse. As of now, I asked for a return.
I got these for summer weight overlanding and backpacking pants. This is my 5th pair of Fjallraven pants in different versions. 2 KEB, ABISKO, VIDDA Pro, and now these Abisko Lite. All 44. All very different sizes in the waste. My vidda pro are a bit snug, 1 Keb is perfect and the other is snug, and these are massive. Be prepared to have to find one that fits in adjacent sizes. For a European based size, it's disappointing since all my other european clothes are also 44 and arent as variable across several brands.
