Quality 9-spd cassette as expected from Shimano.
_____ *Pros: -Easy to install. -Smooth gear shifts, both up and down. -Quiet operation. _____ *Cons: -None After running a 7-spd freewheel setup on my MTB for 5 months, I upgraded it to a 9-spd setup for some extra gear range. As expected from a mid-level Shimano product, the 9-spd Alivio cassette has been very satisfactory for several reasons. Gear changes are smooth and quick, and the range this cassette offers is well-suited for my riding style and the bike trails I ride on most often. Other components on my bike are as follows: -Microshift TS70-9 3x9 shifters (I wanted Shimano but they're all out of stock). -Shimano Deore RD-M591 rear derailleur. -KMC X9.93 9-spd chain. -WTB ST i25 27.5" wheelset with Novatec hubs. Thanks to REI not price-gouging on backordered components, I was able to purchase the cassette at a fair price with free shipping and store pick-up. I had a 5-star experience with both REI and the Alivio cassette.
Perfect replacement
I bought a budget hybrid commuter bike not knowing if i wanted a road or mountain bike. I rebuilt it with a Shimano Sora road bike cassette and liked it. But after changing the Sora out for the Alivio it's like a whole new bike. I don't really ride anything but pavement, but the range of gears of the Alivio feels so much more like I think a bike should feel.
New sprockets corrected chain skip.
Disassembled to replace multiple worn out sprockets of my 8 speed cassette.
Seattle Hills much less Sweat!
Bike technicians @ REI replaced my cluster, bottom bracket...they’re not only highly skilled but can explain to me what needs doing. Very dependable bike work for years!
