I love Terry’s products. Every item has met or exceeded my expectations including these cool weather tights. The fit is perfect and they are very comfortable. They even come with Terry’s best chamois for long distances. My rides are only around 20, so haven’t tested that out to verify but have heard it holds up. Finally had a chance to try these tights in cool Colorado mid-50s temperatures yesterday. They should also be great for 60s temps.I was completely comfortable, however, I may look at their winter tights for grey days or temps less than 50. For reference, I am 5’5”, 135 pounds, 28” waist, and 37” hips. Hipe this helps.
They are the first piece of cycling clothing I can say actually fit me well. I think it is because of the unique way the waist is constructed in these tights. I have a smaller waist in proportion to my thighs/hips, which has made it very difficult for me to find tights and pants in general, not excluding cycling clothing, so this was a pleasant surprise. Additionally, the chamois is perfect. I had tried the Terry "Wayfarer" tights initially, but they kept sliding down because of the waist, the construction of which I think is more commonly used in tights. The only reason these get four instead of five stars is that they are too long. (I am 5'4.")
The bike pants of my dreams! These are so comfortable, no itchy seems. The band doesn't roll or slide down. I work out in them before I bike to work because they are that comfortable. They are quick drying and perfect warmth for my daily PNW commute. I have been looking for these pants for years. They wash well and are really sturdy. Just the perfect fitting bike pant. I do run really hot, I tow a trailer of children when I bike so these might be too thin for a longer winter ride. I find them comfortable in 20F winter weather. I am 5'6" and 130-135, muscular legs and I ordered a size small. I'll be ordering directly from the Terry website for my next purchase.
I purchased these tights to replace older tights for cool weather cycling. I’ve worn them several times and are happy with the fit. It’s nice to have the side pockets as some of my long sleeved jerseys have only one zip pocket on the back. I am slim and straight in body type, size small, and the butt fits well ( 112 lbs and 5 ft 4 “ ) . I probably will buy another pair. I also have the Terry knickers with side pockets.
These tights are for cool weather not cold weather. Perfect where Arizona winters begin the day in the 30s or 40s and end in the 60s to 70s. Fit is consistent with terry shorts I already own so no guessing on size. Wide waist is comfortable.
Love the fit but they are not good alone for Northern Minnesota spring time weather -use them as a layer under a good wind pant. Ordered a small-fit well-5'6" 125 lbs-athletic
I bought these for biking in 50-65 degree days in San Diego in February. They were great! Kept the early morning chill off on cloudy cool days. And they weren't too hot when the temps climbed into the mid-60s and I was working up a sweat going up those hills. I also wear them during winter indoor training sessions in my basement. Fabric is soft, stretchy, and comfortable. Not a lot of compression.
Tights were disappointing as far as warmth and wind is concerned. Did not protect for either condition. They are comfortable and attractive so it is a double disappointment that they don't perform as "Coolweather" tights. I kept them because I already have warm tights to go over them. The chamois is very comfortable. Take away the "Coolweather" description and they are a nice tight.
These are so very comfortable and great fit. I live in San Francisco and these are good for the cool, windy days, even riding along the ocean. They keep me warm while being breathable. The waist doesn't fall down or hit me in the wrong places. The length is good for me at 5"7" but I imagine they might be a tad long for any shorter folks.
As some reviewers have said, the material is not truly meant for “up North” kind of cold, like biking on a frozen lake or in the snow. You’d need another layer. The chamois is also a flimsy, easily compressible foam that won’t really do much for a larger rider. These leggings will be returned due to failing to meet two very important metrics for winter biking. The style and fit were nice otherwise, but not worth the money given the other shortcomings.
