Withstood the Test
I've had these shoes for a couple year now and at the end of their useful life, I feel it was worth writing a review. During that time I've worn them almost every day to work, which includes a decent walk through the elements, as well as site visits to some muddy, wet places. These shoes have withstood it all, kept my feet totally dry in all but the worst conditions and held up well enough for me to walk into an office without blushing. The support and soles are about done now, and I'm ready to break in a new pair. I also have wide feet and am thankful these accommodate at the right size.
Comfortable hiking shoes!
Comfortable, stay on well, even when hiking in Turkey Run State Park! Great pair of shoes!
My First Slip-on
I only have had these for a day but I am well pleased with them so far. One reason I ordered this model is because of the vibram soles. I have had Merrell soles on hiking boots and I didn't think they really wore all that well. I have never worn a slip-on shoe but a bad back has forced me to make a lot of adjustments. These shoes seem true to size but are a little tight across the top of the foot. Like tying your shoe laces too tight but I think they will work for me. I'm hoping that they loosen up a little after time. Fingers crossed on that. I know it Is knitpicking but I left off one star because there is no pull on loop at the back of the shoe which I thought was a given on a pull on shoe.
Not like they appear on the REI website
I've worn various Merrell Mocs for a few years, and while all have been very comfortable, they vary in grip and wear characteristics and in looks. I bought this pair because the dual-density rubber soles (which don't wear nearly as long as the Vibram soles but have better grip) are wearing out on my old Jungle Moc shoes. The pair that I received do not look like any pair on the REI website. The top is smooth leather, like the Jungle Moc Leather Waterproof Ice+ shoes, but the soles are the dual density rubber outsoles like the original Jungle Moc shoes. I like them, but am disappointed to not have the Vibram soles as described on the website.
Hits all the marks.
First time buying this shoe, and really like them. Good for wandering around town, going for long walks, on streets and trail - and better than loafers on rainy days to the office. Comfortable, good traction, easy-on-off. Spent a week in New Orleans, and only took these shoes... walked miles each day in wet conditions and feet stayed dry. And while they are certainly not dress shoes, they are simple enough to go un-noticed at nicer restaurants.
Data tag inside shoe says Boulder, but colors not even close!!!
I bought this shoe for the color, but to my great dissatisfaction, the colors are not even close. The data tag on the inside of shoe says Boulder, but the colors are not the same. The two-tone sole is dark grey, sort of brown and not even close to the light tan shown in the product image. The upper is a dark brownish-grey and not even close to the lighter tan shown in the product image. In fact, the colors don't match any of the Moab shoes. For the price of these shows, where's the quality control??? Someone must have been asleep at the wheel when this batch arrived from Vietnam.
Very nice shoe
I purchased the Moab wide because they were wide enough for my feet, the Q2 women's slide was not. The Moab's foot bed was also more comfortable. Since I have a high instep the front collar of the shoe is too high and tight, but I have cut down this collar and put a split over where my instep is the highest. I will go to a shoe repair place to have this split side stitched to keep the cut from looking bad. I'd ordered a 10W for the width but it was too wide and finally decided on the 8.5 W. The toe box isn't pointy and there's lots of toe room. Had to buy a 10W to get the width in a tennis shoe. Please make a Moab Slide in men's Wide!!
500+ Trail Miles and Counting
I've worn the Moab mock for more than 500 trail miles, mostly along Midwest trails, and this trail shoe has delivered outstanding performance. Easy on and off allows me to air my feet frequently and effortlessly. I opted for a slightly loose fit (half-size larger) to accommodate end-of-day foot expansion, without pinching or cutting blood circulation. I have a second pair in my "normal" size for travel and impromptu excursions into unpaved areas, and they work beautifully for hikes up to about five miles (for my feet at least). Hikers I've encountered are often surprised to see mocs instead of laced boots. Ignore the doubters: try these for yourself and experience a new level of comfort first-hand.
Comfy Shoe
Love this slip on. It's as comfortable as the Jungle Moc, but with a gripy sole that will last longer and go on more varied terrain. The only complaint I have is the color. I've looked at the Boulder color from a mac and pc computer and it's got a more greenish tint, in person, than what the color suggests online.
Cheap and overpriced
The stiching on the toe broke in less than a month on one shoe and the other is already starting to come apart as well.
