Dissapointed
I generally only write reviews if I'm very pleased or disappointed. Unfortunately I'm pretty disappointed with this beanie. Firstly, the material is very thin. It may offer some wind protection and a bit of insulation, but not much. It's definitely not a winter hat if you live in the northern U.S. I purchase this as an adult with a smaller than average head. With that said, I'm a 215 lb man, and my head is not smaller than a child's. The sizing seems to be on par with that of an adult. When I put the beanie on, it's so long I could easily cover my eyes. So wearing it normally creates a baggy/wrinkled look. This was an online purchase so I paid $6 for shipping and its just not worth paying another $6 for the $13 refund. The icing on the cake was this beanie was discounted by $4 just after my purchase...but I'm not holding that against REI. The reason for the low review is poor material and poor sizing. A better online shipping/return policy would be a great resolution.
Fit nice, time will tell
Good hat for the price, it's as warm as I need for the fall. My only concern is with the small amount that the fabric stretches, the stitching seems to pop, so I'm not sure how long before it unravels
Good running hat
I got this hat for running a half marathon in a winter, which was surprisingly very good. It’s nit too bulky so it doesn’t fall to your eyes while running, it kept my head cool, yet warm enough for comfortable running. I would recommend this hat for anyone who’s doing activities.
good for adults with smaller heads
The adult beanies were too big for my head so I found this in the kids department. It fit perfectly and was cheaper. I like that it isn't bulky. My baseball cap fits easily over it. Worked well for snowshoeing this weekend.

High quality and super warm. Will definitely fit my kiddo for a few years! I love that it isn’t bulky but still has a fair amount of warmth.

I love this hat and wear it every time I run this winter. It dries really fast.
