great jacket for small adults, too
This jacket is great—warm, light, and easily packable. The side zip pockets are ample and the wrist elastics are tight enough to keep the wind out. I bought this instead of the women’s jacket because I prefer a straighter cut. I wear a women’s XS and the child L fits perfectly.

Looks dirty because down stuffing shows through
Great jacket, except for the fact that in the red and orange, it looks dirty all over because the insulation contains a lot of dark feathers that show through. It's unfortunate because those are great colors. Guess I'm stuck with the usual blue and grey on this one.

Wonderful, Affordable Down Jacket

I am 5'2", 125lbs and typically wear a women's S/M or men's S, but decided to try a Kids XL due to the price difference. I am EXTREMELY pleased with this jacket, the fit, the warmth, and the overall style and value. I had been looking for a quality, affordable down jacket to wear at home and on hikes. I tried a couple of other more expensive options before settling for the REI Co-Op 650 Down Jacket. Pros: Lightweight, warm, extra pocket on inside, stylish, good fit, great color. Cons: None which I have found. Other comments: I wish the REI Co-Op style jacket was also available with an option of higher down count.

Low profile & warm

Bought two of these for my kiddos. I love that they are thin, yet super warm. Perfect for cold bus stop mornings. They run true to size, in my opinion and I love that it has a place for a name (lost and found)... and super cool that it actually has a spot for multiple names for when you donate or hand this coat down. Very pleased with the purchase.

Super Cute! Lady wearing kids jacket

LOVE!!! I tried on the ladies version of this... it fit really well, but didn't care for the length... A kids jacket happened to be on the rack, so I tried it on and loved the more sporty length... Now about the size tag... I'm a kid at heart, I just hope my nephew's don't try to steel this from me :0

Would not recommend

I would not recommend this product. I bought 2 jackets last year for each of my boys and with in the first month there were feathers coming out of the seams and the seams pulling apart. Too scared to wash since it seems so delicate so i have to spot treat with a wash cloth to clean.. not ideal for 2 young boys who love to play outside. very disappointed. and i hesitate to buy any other REI jackets if they are all this poor of quality

Outer Shell is Easily Torn

I bought this jacket for my 8 year old son 2 weeks ago. After a week of wearing the jacket, I washed it and it came out with 2 holes and feathers coming out. After another week of wearing the jacket, there were more tears on the arms and feathers coming out. There was white, feathery shedding in the car where he sits. I am very disappointed in the quality of the exterior. It is delicate and easily torn/damaged. I was hoping this jacket would finish out the winter/early spring in New Hampshire and make it through next. Unfortunately that is not the case. It is upsetting because the jacket isn't exactly cheap, price wise. The look of the jacket was nice when it came out of the packaging. It fit him well when he tried it on and he really liked how it fit and looked. He was so excited to wear it to school. Simply put, the jacket does not keep up with kids actually wearing it regularly. I would not recommend this jacket if your child is going to be outside playing and being a regular kid.

So far so good - daughter loves it

Jacket seems well made so far, zippers work well even for little hands. my daughter used to hate her previous puffy jacket but loves this one. She wears it all the time. The color is nice, packs down small, really light weight. Most importantly she enjoys wearing it and it keeps her warm. Hopefully we get more than one season out of it.

My kiddo loves this jacket

This is a great product. Quality is good and just concerned the kiddo will grow too quick.
