Good for running too, but beware of sizing
I bought these at my local REI in a pinch the day before a marathon when I learned it was going to be in the low 40s and raining. I looked at the REI Swiftland arm warmers (which are intended for running), but ultimately opted for these because of the advertised waterproofing. The sizing was a bit problematic. I'm a 5'10" 135 lb distance runner without much of an upper body. My wrist measures 6 inches and my bicep 11 inches around. Based on the size chart I should wear an XS. Size S fit well in the bicep but was too tight in the forearm and too restrictive at the elbow. Size M fit perfectly in the forearm and gave me a good amount of flexibility but the cuff was loose at the bicep. I went with M anyways. They worked out great, allowing me to run comfortably in a singlet without freezing. Despite the cuff being loose, the material was tight enough to stay in place and I never once had to pull them up. I used some Vaseline around the cuff and didn’t have any issues with chafing. The waterproofing held true, and when I took them off the fleece lining was still dry. All in all a good buy, but I recommend buying at least one size up and trying on in the store if possible.

Arm warmers
I ride a bike for my job during my 10 hour shift everyday. I was in need of a new pair of arm warmers and purchased these Pearl Izumi warmers from REI. They fit well are very warm. However the non slip material on the elastic on the upper arm of the sleeves left a large red mark on my arm that blistered. I guess the sleeves are probably not meant to be worn for a 10 hour shift. But beware to anyone who plans on wearing them for any length of time. I do roll the top of the sleeves over now and this has alleviated the blistering problem. Its not as comfortable but its better than having large blisters on my arms. I would not recommend these arm warmers for people who ride long distances.

Great for inclement riding

Please see the picture for temperature range. at 65f, these would be coming off. in the 30-50's i'd leave them on.. they breathe great and can shed water/wind. I had my arms measured. It recommended an XL. It did surprise me a little. My hands and wrists are XL's, i don't think of my biceps/Triceps as XL, but that was the sizing chart recommendation and they were correct. I love the extra warmth while i'm warming up or in the rain. It makes my bike season longer and there are less days the weather keeps me home. Great Purchase. thank you Pearl Izumi, thank you REI!

Buy a size up

I have comparatively short arms, per the sizing chart my arms are shorter than XS womens. But I have a 12.5" bicep and a 6.5" wrist. I am a t-rex. So I braved going into the store during the pandemic to make sure I wasn't going to have to return them, and its also now November in Pittsburgh and I should have done this weeks ago. I was not able to get the S mens over my bicep, so went with the M mens. They are perfect for cycling since my arms barely move. They do sausage my arms a slight amount, so I would get a size or more higher for running. I wore them on a 2.5 hour ride in 45 degree weather and they were only very slightly too warm, which I only felt when I stopped for water or a traffic light, so they should definitely be good for the 32 degree lower limit.

keeps the chill away

I used the size guide and it was spot on. I am petite so arm length was a bit long but that was okay, just a bit of bunching. Wrist and bicep fit was perfect. I went with a small unisex pair as that was the only thing available at the store. I am female, 5'3", 135 lbs, bicep 11 inches, wrist 6 inches. My arms stayed warm and comfortable on a 3 hour ride. The elastic caused some skin depression and redness but no pain and it stayed up! Washed well too (cold water and hung dry).

Thick material, keeps arms warm tho!

These arm warmers do the job of keeping you warm. I've tested them out in low 50s temperature. The material is rather thick though and the length is slightly too long. Not the best fit overall, but decent enough.

Feels high quality

The only issue is with the sizing chart. The arm length refers to the person's entire arm and not the length of these arm warmers. For example, size S refer to 24 inches but the arm warmer in size S is only about 18 inches long. So that information is misleading. I was worried about it being too long, but 18 inches is just right.

Warm and comfy for all day use

I wear these nearly every day in cool/cold weather. Even skiing under a jacket to add extra warmth to arms. Very nicely insulated and with the silicone band they stay up very well. My arms are skinny and shirt size is 36 sleeve and size medium fits perfectly. I even use them indoors as our thermostat is set low.
