Great duffel for car camping
I recently took this duffel on a 2 day trip to Joshua tree and I was able to pack all my clothes and toiletries for my trip. There was enough room for all my items; a 2-3 day trip is good for this duffel, anything longer will need a larger duffel. The material seems very durable like it will last me for many trips.I like the mechanisms for attaching the straps, it seems more durable than using clips. It also has an option to turn it into a backpack, with the straps in the top compartment. It wasn't very comfortable to carry it like that and I would have preferred a shoulder strap instead. The inside is spacious and on the top it has two zipper compartments to carry items, I put all my toiletries in there. The sides have a lot of loops to hang things from with a carabiner. It also has a side pocket where you can put your personal info to ID your duffel from others or in case it gets lost. There are also 4 compression straps on the sides to make it more snug to pack in a vehicle. Only downfall was on the item I received, on of the straps came with two female clips so I was unable to compress that corner. The material is water resistant, so any spills will keep your items dry. Overall this is a good duffel for a short 2-3 day trip, mainly to take your clothes and toiletries, and other items can also fit in there if needed. it is good for car camping to keep your items organized and it does not take up much space. Other that the design flaw with the strap, this is a very good item to use for travel.
SUCCESS! 12 day Hawai’i trip in this 40L bag!
This bag fit with everything ROLLED TIGHTLY; 14 shorts, 7 leggings (2 jogger pants), 13 tank tops, 11 shirts (2 are long sleeve but thin), 1 pair of dress pants, 2 flower sarongs, 9 bathing suits, 3 pairs of socks, thin underwear, 3 sports bras, and a set of spandex top and bottom! This was all for a 12 day trip to two different islands on Hawai’i. I wanted to be prepared. Should have only packed the shorts, it was hot and wore leggings once lol. I have never spent more than about $40 on a bag, but after reading reviews and watching multiple videos online comparing bags, I am SO happy I went with this one as it for all that I needed and I know because of its durability it will last me forever. I am an extreme overpacker. The straps clip tightly across keeping it’s all in and the backpack straps that are hidden and don’t remove can come in handy when it gets heavy like mine. I am 23 years old and this was my longest trip and I knew I wanted a book bag as my personal item for shoes and toiletries (and anything extra I could fit) and a carry on bag to hold all my clothing as anything bigger I would be bringing stuff I won’t even wear. It was a perfect carry on size and so many people had bigger carry on bags, even with mine stuffed to the max flying United Airlines, and then Hawaiian Airlines to get to the other island we visited. The handles ALL over the bag made it so easy to put up and take down in the plane and to carry around in different ways. This trip was a success with the help of this bag. I also posted what was also packed in my other “personal item” bag to see all you can bring without paying to check a bag! Do yourself a favor and buy this, it was worth every penny. Happy/safe travels! - Sky
Almost perfect...
This bag is the perfect size for my application, I do alot 9f camping and overlanding trips and I was looking for a bag that had a handle strap in all 4 sides so I can toss it aroud in my jeep or in my offroad trailer, also the 40l capacity is the perfect volume for me to be forced to only pack the essencial gear and stop the habit of bringing suff "just in case" which never use. My only issue with the bag is that I would've wanted to have a zipper on the compartment where you stow the shoulder strap to use it as a back pack so they dont come out if you used it without any straps as I usually do.
Great product, Very Efficient Duffel
I went to the new REI by my work because i feel a daypack type duffel is good to see it in person and get an idea of how it much it can actually hold. The efficiency of this duffel is EXCELLENT. I took it on a 4 day trip to the blue ridge mountains and it held more than what i needed for the trip (had leftover clean clothes). I brought this fully packed on the plan and was able to have it comfortably stashed under the seat with room to spare for my feet. Durability seems top notch, pockets are great! the side one for an ID I actually stashed my tablet and headphones in which makes for very easy access. Great pack, great job on it!
Was able to fit under the seat
I've only been on one trip so far with this bag but I think I'm in love. The compression straps are awesome, and the backpack straps can tuck away in their own stash pouch. There are daisy chain every where which makes clipping a Nalgene bottle super easy. There is a Zipper compartment on the front great for tickets and quick access items, then organizer zip pouch on the lid. The lid opens up wide and with the bright color inside you can easily see all your stuff. I use eagle creek compression organizers and some other packing cubes to organize stuff that I got super cheap from amazon "travel wise" and have really held up over the past couple years. The only thing I can see missing from this is a waist strap that tucks away. I'm going to get some webbing and add that and somehow ridge a chest strap as well.
Looks Small - Fits a lot!
Recently purchased this duffel for short trips, car camping, traveling, etc. Pros: 1) It fights a lot more than you might think upon first glance. 2) it feels durable and holds it's shape nicely when you start packing things. 3) hands straps are detachable/backpack straps are easily moved out of the way. 4) pocket organization (2 mesh, 1 outer pocket which is a nice size) Cons: bottom of the bag should be water proof or wate resistent at the very least. 2) the bag feels like it could be deeper (maybe making it a 45L instead). 3) backpack straps are not removable (that pocket space could be useful for other things). 4)
Makes getting through airplane aisles easy
I asked for this duffel as a Christmas gift. I ski and with all the other luggage to handle, I didn't have enough hands for another wheeled carry-on. On the plane, I can put this on my back and not knock it into the seats or heads. It frees my hands up to for ski and boot bags. It is also lightweight and flexible from my usual carry-on but I was able to put so much more into it. Plenty of compartments too and places to hook stuff. Being able to put the backpack straps away is also an excellent feature. So far it looks like they thought of everything except a durable snap removable zippered transparent toiletry bag.
Great for air travel!
Took this as a carry on all the way to Africa! By far the best backpack carry on I have ever used!! Makes accessing your goodies so much easier, and is so easy to carry as a backpack! Also makes it a lot easier when you get a security check! May get the bigger one in the future instead of using a suitcase!
Casual warrior
Picked up a 40L duffel for a four day trip and was very impressed. The bag packs neatly and has properly sized mesh pouches in the top. With fall weather, I packed for warm days and cool nights and had plenty of room for four days worth of clothes. I did not need an extra pair of shoes, so I saved that space, but easily could have added a pair with some planning. The bag was light and got thrown around from many angles, as handles are conveniently placed. I need to use it more to properly attest to the durability, but see no reason to doubt it will provide long life and plenty of value.
Holds more than you think
I was surprised at how much I could fit into this bag. I used it for a 4 day get away. The buckle system makes it easy to 'expand' to hold items like a jacket and travel pillow on top. The zippered pockets in the lid are very useful. Just a couple things keeping it from being 5 stars: 1. The backpack straps are tucked into a pocket on top, which does keep them out of the way, but adds some bulk if you're not going to use them. Would be nice if they were detachable. 2. It would be nice to have a shoe pocket somewhere. The zippers, buckles, snaps, handles are all very durable. I had it pretty packed but was never concerned that it would burst under pressure.
