A good sack, but could be perfect
Overall this is a good product. The material feels sturdy and keeps out moisture enough for a light rain or accidental spill (not 100% waterproof). I love using bags like this to organize gear, clothes, shoes, food, and so on. It makes travel a lot easier, especially when you can use the color of the bag to tell what's in it. Now, two big suggestions for REI: First, please add a small amount of material near the opening to act a storm flap. This would greatly increase the sack's ability to keep out water. Second, please go back to the tried-and-true drawstring closure where you simply squeeze the plastic piece and pull it down to close the bag. This new system is not an improvement in any way, and seems harder to close fully than the old system. And I never figured out what the little loop on the opposite side from the plastic piece is for (if anyone knows, please reply!). Thanks!

Over-engineered
It works fine but has no rain flap and it is not obvious how the cinch mechanism works. I would have preferred to pay much less for an old-fashioned, simple-to-use, less engineered one. I deducted one star for being over-engineered and one for the packaging -- an unnecessary, un-recyclable plastic box.

Keeps things organized

I was debating between getting this vs a sack with compression straps and decided to keep this one instead after purchasing both. While the compression sack did, obviously, compress down better, I rarely found myself in need of that much compression. Though less compressed, it turns out that it fit better into my backpack because it wasn't packed into a dense block of clothes but rather filled in those awkward pockets of space. It's of course not air tight but the draw string is so nicely designed that it keeps a fairly tight seal after you squeeze all the air out.

10L is ~8L. Otherwise perfect.

Just recieved 10L Red Stuff Sack. I measured it out as 7" Diameter and 13" long after you pull the draw string closed. Although the claim is that its 10 liters, If you convert 7" Diameter to 3.5" Radius. Using V=πr2h = 2 * (3.14) * (3.5") * (13") = 500 cubic inches. Converting to Liters is L = Cubic inches / 62 = 8.06 Liters. So it is a smaller than stated, and for me this is PERFECT. I actually needed a 8 Liter stuff sack. It seems well made. It is also very light, as stated, and the draw string, etc seems heavy duty part of the stuff sack. Despite that, its still light. I am a happy customer.

Easy to find your "stuff."

I had never bought a stuff sack before...always figured a large ziplock baggie would be just as good. However, I absolutely LOVE this sack. I have the yellow one and used it to keep snacks for a hiking trip. I plan on getting more in various sizes. They're great and make it easy to find things in your backpack!

great lightweight stuffsack.

Bought this just before a 50 mile backpacking trip to use as a trash bag. It held up great, and cleaned up at the end nicely. Would buy again.

Great stuff sack!

I bought this to be used as my “hammock” bag. I have both my hammock and ancors in here. Knowing me, I’d probably just grab my hammock bag and forget the anchors, so I needed a way to combine them into one bag. This was a perfect, cheap solution!

A great addition to traveling

I purchased this mainly to hold my dirty clothes while I'm away and it works perfectly for that function. When empty, you can basically stuff it anywhere. When full, it also collapses a bit to make it easy to re-pack and keep the dirty stuff separate from what may still be clean.

Great stuff sack

Perfect for my intended use - storing all my collapsible water bottles and water filters together. Well made and light weight. Wish there were more color choices, though.

What a helpful little item!

I am an inexperienced backpacker, so in an effort to save money on supplies, I decided to purchase these compression sacks from REI. Great product. Pretty amazing how much clothing I could jam into one little sack. 10/10 would recommend!
