Less than 30'
Purchased for SAR training. Ordered 4 rolls, 2 red and 2 blue. The red rolls were 30'. One of the blue rolls was 29' and the other was 28' 9". Since my goal was to cut the blue rolls into 3 10' sections I was a bit disappointed. They also used a tape to attach the webbing to the spool and to keep it from unwinding. This tape left an incredibly sticky residue on the webbing that took some time to clean. We haven't tested the webbing yet, looks like it will do the job. Weave was tight, no fraying other than on the unsealed ends. Just disappointed in the presentation.
Great webbing, bad packaging
I've used this webbing a bunch, works fine, no complaints in terms of strength. My only gripe is that mine came with two sections that had a white sticker, and upon trying to remove the sticker it left a ton of adhesive residue which has been extremely frustrating to remove so I've just kind of left it in the hopes that time and abrasion will eventually remove it. I saw other packaging online that didn't appear to have these stickers, I would try to stick with those, or maybe I got a box that sat in the sun too long and gunked up the adhesive, I don't know, I'm just disappointed. At least now I'll be able to tell it apart if anyone else has webbing up.
Quality webbing, but room for improvement
It's exactly what it claims to be, 1" tubular webbing. The webbing itself is great and worked well for building anchors, but there could be a couple improvements made to the packaging. The packaging used sticky tape to attach the webbing to the reel and to itself at the end, which left a residue when i removed it. Also, the ends were cut using a blade as opposed to a heat knife, so i had to burn them myself to prevent them from fraying. Neither is a major issue, but i would consider just buying it by the foot off the reel next time.
Not just for climbing
Webbing often comes as a flat ribbon of fabric. This is tubular. That means that it is not only stronger, but it holds up longer as well. It is easier to tie -- and to untie -- because of the added bulk. We use this as sail stops on our boat. We need segments about 7' long to wrap around the furled sails and keep them shipshape while on the mooring. The range of available colors means this webbing can look good no matter what color your boat, canvas, or sails are. A candle melts the cut ends to keep them from unraveling or fraying. We're happy that REI carries this.
Rope no break
I purchase rope from REI. Rope no break. Rope good.
Packaging leaves a sticky mess
The webbing is great. Just as you would expect from tubular webbing. The disappointment came with the packaging. They used a sticker or tape to keep the roll tight and attached to the cardboard ro in the middle. About 6 inches on each end are left with a stickey residue when you take the white sticker packaging off. Not the end of the world but you’ll loose a foot or have a stickey gue.
Comfortable, light, strong
This is great stuff. I had some webbing products that were cutting into my skin. I sewed some of this (much softer, more flexible) webbing around the edges of the other webbing. Problem solved.
Webbing is fine, but the gunky adhesive is not
The webbing seems fine, but it's packaged with a section of tape that crosses the cut end of the webbing to connect it to the rolled bulk. It's very difficult to peel off, and leaves several inches of gunky, extremely sticky residue behind (which in the outdoors, if you leave it on the rope, is going to collect dirt and debris). If you cut it off, for each 30 foot roll, you're going to lose about nine inches of webbing. If you use a chemical to dissolve it (such as GoopOff) you might damage the integrity of the webbing. It's nasty stuff, and the packager shouldn't be using it. Please find some other way of packaging the webbing.
Excellent for custom gear, easy to use, high qual.
I initially bought this because I thought hammock slap straps were a giant rip off. They are!!! I have since made custom length hammock straps for me and others, Repaired or replaced ratchet straps. Made belts, lashing straps for packs, attackments, so many things from this stuff. The strength is incredible and it does not take more then a regular sewing machine with a heavy duty needle to create all this. The strength is around 2000 lbs or 1 ton. Its smooth, easy to work with, hollow on the inside if you want to run a rope through it. Many different colors, All my gear. My sleeping mat, things like that are lashed down with this stuff. Strong enough to lift several grown adults into the air.
Blue blue blue
Great quality webbing, for a great price! Looking to make slack straps for a hammock, use this stuff!
