3rd worst in my test
From best to worst on liquid chalks, been 4 months now at the gym 2-4 days a week, 1) Edelweiss 2) Black Diamond 3) Petzl 4) Metolius 5) Secret Stuff 6) Secret Stuff non-alcoholic 7) C.A.M.P. The last two are just awful, better used to keep hands wet for dipping into a real chalk bag on top-rope, maybe, or just trashed. Edelweiss and BD are less viscous. Petzl and Metolius are similar, though Metolius dusts off a bit much. Secret Stuff dusts off like Metolius, slips almost, ounce-for-ounce isn't terrible, but certainly markedly worse than Metolius. Edelweiss and BD stick. I mean, they stick. Petzl was pretty good, too, none of the dusting problems with Metolius, which led to slippage. Price-wise, Metolius is fair, esp. if you get the 15% with a membership and the credit card. Otherwise, I'd at least try out the Petzel, Edelweiss and BD, if you haven't.
I use it on the pistol range
Although I'm not a rock climber or crossfit enthusiast, I use this liquid chalk when I'm on the pistol range. As you can imagine, being on the range outdoors in the elements tends to get your hands sweaty. A marksman instructor recommended this product. I keep it in my range bag and use it regularly.
Pretty good. I like it.
I like that the chalk is easy to apply... when standing on the ground. Cream spreads easy and dries quickly. I can spread on my hands and start climbing a few moments later. It coats my hands nicely, and I am able to get even coverage where I want it. However, I did find it to be a bit dusty as soon as I start moving my fingers. This isn't a huge issue for me. Definitely provided pretty good grip and helped me get a few difficult holds. The only real issue for me is that I cannot easily reapply while moving up the wall. I would buy it again though, and keep it in my bag in case I ever need it.
Ideal for climbing and weightlifting
This is a great product! It dries fast and is great as a base layer of chalk or it can be used on its own.
Great weight lifting chalk substitute
I use this for lifting weights in the gym. I have sweaty hands and this works great. After initial application and knocking off excess, it isn't too messy. I don't normally climb indoor climbing gyms, but have in the past. This product would work great.
Overpriced, Make Your Own
Without taking price into account, I would probably give it a 4 star review. Compared with dry chalk it is more convenient, cleaner, less wasteful in the gym. One drawback is that it takes time to dry. Not much, but a non zero amount, which is more time than dry talk takes. So there is a wait period after chalking up. Another is convenience mid route. Not a big deal if you aren't on the wall too long or are just bouldering. Compared with other liquid chalks? I have no idea. This is the first I've tried. The reason for the low rating is price. Twenty dollars for a 75 ml bottle is very steep. I recommend buying your own squeeze tube, powdered chalk(magnesium carbonate) in bulk, and your own rubbing alcohol. I saw a recipe online, should have used it myself, check one out for proportions. Use your blender, adjust recipe for desired thickness if needed, pour into the squeeze tube. Store excess in some airtight container. Ready made is convenient, but the price is outrageous really. The secret is the customer is paying too much.
My favorite liquid chalk
This stuff’s pretty good. It keeps me from having to chalk up thirty seconds into my projects. It also doesn’t smell terrible which is a plus. The only reason it loses a start is because of its price for the amount you get.
Good to go for sport or gym climbing.
This stuff works really well. It is alcohol based so it will burn when it gets inside your cracked climbing fingers. I also do not like that it cannot be reapplied mid pitch, at least not easily.
Swear by this!
Worth every penny. Don't have to use a ton, just a tiny dollop at the beginning of your climbing day, so it lasts a while.
LIQUID CHALK
this liquid chalk does not work for me. it was hard to open, dry and pasty for liquid chalk, it had the same effect of dry chalk getting everywhere. its the only liquid chalk that you sell. BLACK DIAMOND LIQUID CHALK IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE, BLACK DIAMOND LIQUID CHALK IS THE BEST, ITS STICKY, DOESNT RUB OFF ON EVERYTHING YOU TOUCH AND IS EASY TO OPEN, IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU COULD SELL BLACK DIAMOND AGAIN, ITS THE BEST LIQUID CHALK OUT THERE-
