Why no tongs?

Why a set like this would not include kitchen tongs is beyond me...You include a brush to butter the meat...and no tongs. Why?

Cute but not terribly functional

I've had this for about five years and loved the idea of having a little kit that had almost everything I needed for my camp dinners. The trouble with it is that nothing is terribly sturdy, including the bag. Most of the elastic gave up within two years, so every time I open it the plastic utensils go flying. The spatula melts a little every time I make bacon though I am careful with it. The whisk is not better at it's job than just a fork, and so on and so on. I was very excited at first, and having this kit has taught me about what I do want for cooking while camping, but overall I don't recommend it... Though: I will be keeping the grater in my new kit. I'd recommend the oxo outdoors collection over this. (And, for the record, GSI's knife kits are excellent.)

Handy set... but

Utensils for four... but seasoning for 1. The four spice holder for seasoning is a nifty design but ultimately useless. For large meals you will run through most of what it can hold in one go. My spatula got melted first time out but that was probably more my fault/inexperience with my new stove. But even so it was VERY flimsy and small. For the Spoon and whisk this design seems to work but for a spatula it was lacking, I am thinking if you are actually cooking for four you will want better. That said it’s a well organized little kit that packs nicely.

Tidy, Everything you need.

Bought this kit before a month long road trip that included a raft-rig float trip and a bunch of car camping. It had everything I needed short of a chef's knife and I think I used each item at least once. The pair knife is good quality for a camping cook kit (and I'm picky) and the kit storage is laid out nicely. Stuff stays where you put it, it always closes easily, and it fit nicely in any bag I stowed it in. My only complaint is nitpicking - the salt/pepper shakers (spice storage) is small. Might be the way that I cook, but only enough for a couple of meals. I just bought another as a gift after some on that float trip I mentioned above complimented it. I'm looking at the matching knife kit to fill out the missing chef's knife :)

Love this kit!!!

I am a camper/traveler. This is the best kit! We got as a gift and have used it just about every month sinse. It has a great little cutting board, spatula and serving spoon and a great set of utensles. We keep it in our van and we love it!

Convenient and compact

Used on multiple camping trips this summer. Simplified packing of eating and cooking utensils. The cutting knife included was sharp enough to cut steaks and tomatoes. Avoided using the little dressing packs as it is hard to imagine how to get them very clean. The cutting board is a little flimsy. A different plastic might make it stand up to hot water used to clean the dishes.

Not the best for cooking

Has a lot of stuff in it. Not too impressed with the durability. Does have tongs which seems like an oversight. The liquid condiment bottle spilled and now everything smells like soy sauce.

Only one problem

Love this product but the only issue is that the cap for one of the condiment holders broke and oil spilled everywhere. other than the condiment holders this kitchen set is amazing.

Good utensil set

Comes with a little bit of everything you need but it does not include tongs instead it come with a cheese grader, which I found strange. The carrying case make storing super simple and easy to access.

Great for allergies

I have celiac disease and I travel with this set so that I can cook at airbnbs etc. and not get cross contamination from other utensils. This is an excellent set for anyone with serious allergies and who needs to have a safe cook / prep set up! The knife is great, but I do wish they would swap tongs for the whisk which I don't use. I throw this in my bag and know that I can make a meal anywhere in the world.
