Just enough cushion
Very soft and not too warm. I find it very hard to understand Balega models in terms of cushion. This one is less thin (warm/fuzy) than Hidden Comfort but more so than Ultraglide. I like that they are a little taller than Ultraglide to protect the anklebone. The cushion on the toes helps with blister protection. I probably would not race road marathons/halfs in these but they're great for daily training.
Feels like the yarn changed
I’ve worn these since I first discovered them at REI. Best fabric ever! I buy a dozen (thanks REI 3 pair discount!) so I have a weeks worth plus changes for rain days and the spares I have in the pack. Favorite fresh socks are a real boost when a day goes hard.. These don’t feel like the same fabric at all. It’s almost like a plastic sock. Gonna wash them twice and see.
I appreciate the "Small" size
I purchased the size small and they fit great. I measure as a 7.5 but I wear a 8 or 8.5 wide for comfort.
