How to Choose Quickdraws

The Edelrid Bulletproof Quickdraw set is just that, a bulletproof, robust hybrid quickdraw. A steel insert at the apex of the rope-end carabiner helps prevent premature wear due to friction

The bulletproof quickdraw is the perfect marriage of the durability of steel and the weight saving benefits of aluminum. After using a few of these draws on the first bolt / crux bolts of long term projects, I can attest that they are indeed more durable than standard quickdraws and result in much less aluminum oxide on my ropes
I have 3 of these for sport climbing, I use 1 on the first bolt, and 2 for the anchor. Preserves the life of both my rope and draws. Definitely worth it.
Pros -Good construction, gate action is smooth, the bar tack on the dogbone doesn't stick up much, both carabiners are keylock -Slightly longer than most quickdraws, makes for a better short extension off a piece of pro or a better anchor draw -Rope slides over steel insert very smoothly Cons -Rather expensive -A bit heavier than most other quickdraws Liked my first couple enough that I've come back for more.
Love these draws! They make a great, quick sport anchor, awesome for directionals on TR, and I tend to use them near the crux where they might get a little more use and abuse. Hoping to add a few more to my loop this summer!
Great for setting up TR or very used quickdraws. The Steel insert will let this draw last so much longer!
