Awesome shoes all around.
Bought these shoes for my five year daughter as replacement for a pair of Keens that she had grown out of and I am so glad that I did. The Keens were great shoes, went through two pairs in the same style over the past year, but these are miles better at least in my view. They lack the waterproofing of the Keens, specifically the Oakridge model that I am referencing, but they more than make up for it in how they enable her to be more sure footed in her stride and less clunky when hiking or playing hard. I've notice a marked improvement over the course of her wearing them and they have inspired her to be more confident. I'd highly recommend them to any parent looking for a well made shoe for their active child, any trade offs made are more than made up for in their positive attributes.
Comfortable and well-made
My son has autism and is extremely picky about shoes, and he loves this pair! The toe areas have enough room, and the soles are very cushy and comfortable. The price beats other higher quality shoes, because Salomon shoes always last longer than other brands. The durable draw strings are so convenient and well-made. I only buy Salomon shoes/boots myself for the comfort and quality, and he has joined the club! We go hiking and biking in the mud and under light rain, so that the waterproofing is the must. I bet we will keep getting only Salomon shoes for our son. Thank you for continuing to make top-notch products!
Best hiking shoes.
I wore down my first pair too quickly because I wore these all over the place because they were so comfortable. Then I found out that these shoes should be worn on "soft" surfaces only so now I only wear them when I'm actually hiking. They are super comfortable. I'm a woman's size five and got the kids size 5 originally but I will get a size 4 or 3 next time because that's the proper size. I have a pair of Keen's and these are more comfortable, I can hike 8 or 9 miles without my feet hurting.
Great kids shoe
Just bought these shoes for my 6yo son in preparation for a trip out west to Zion, Bryce, Glen Canyon, and Grand Canyon. Did one 3 mile hike at a local park to “break them in” then clocked 5-9 miles at each of the National Parks. He never complained about discomfort and had no blistering from the shoes. Great purchase!
Fun, colorful running shoes
My grandson loves these shoes. They are bright, have a "garage" to park the shoe laces in and help him run fast!!
Comfy shoes!
I bought these shoes a month ago and they quickly became my favourite. I would say maybe the toe box is a bit narrow but I love that these shoes are waterproof and they’re also really easy to clean.
Love them but hate them
This is my 6yr olds 4th pair of this or similar kids sneaker. Love the fit, style, grip, shoe quality, and the no tie style. However every single pair has met its demise with failed laces.

Great hiking shoes for kids!
My kids have been wearing the XA Pros for a long time! It’s a great rugged and stable shoe for them when we hit the trails.
Awesome for my hard charging 7 year old!
I bought these about 6 months ago to replace another brand of shoes that my son completely wore out in about 6 months. I have been so happy with them and my son loves them. He wears them to school everyday and we just spent a summer camping and hiking all over NC, TN, OH, PA and MI and these shoes have held up so well!! They're light weight and grip well on slippery rocks and are great on trails. I can't even count how many times they've been wet (Can I swim in the waterfall, mom? Walk down the river? And, my favorite, oops!!) and they dry so fast if you pull the inserts out and put them in the sun. I purposely bought non-waterproof shoes because we live in sweaty FL and when hiking, my son ends up in the water so often that water proof shoes do no good and just take forever to dry. He also has a pair of water sandals, but prefers these. I will buy these again when he grows out of them! I don't love Salomon's colors, but whatever. They seem to fit true to size and fit my son's wide feet just fine.
Sturdy & stylish
We were looking for sneakers that offered ankle support unlike the cheaper sneakers we had bought in the past that causesd our sons ankles to roll inward when he walked. He now walks much straighter without his ankles rolling inward.
