The name alone is worth the price
Great little bag, the tarp is a good size very lite weight. i bought it to strap to the top Of my Patagonia cragdaddy pack. While out climbing I can easily roll the entire thing up Carry it like a duffle bag to the next route and be ready to go in seconds. Please Use the red and green indicators to tie your rope ends to the pack. This will cut down on flaking the rope green means go use that end to tie in, and having the other end tied to the red loop will provide a back up stopper knot. All in all a great no frills product.

roomy, but requires a separate pack to carry it in
Pros: fits a 70 m rope with plenty of room to spare. The tarp is also large, with colored loops for the rope ends. Cons: the handles on the bag are flimsy and small. Unless you are climbing in an area with little to no approach, you'll definitely need to stuff this bag into your main pack. I shoved it in my ~40 L osprey back, but this + 3 L hydration pack, a DSLR, and a few snacks was about as much as 40 L could accomodate. My partner had to carry my harness/draws, and I had to clip my shoes to the outside of my pack... long story short, this bag will take up a bunch of space in your pack.

Great for carrying a rope inside a pack

This is a nice, simple, rope bag. It is perfect for someone who wants a rope bag and carries their rope inside their pack. Because it doesn't close all the way it would not be good as a standalone bag, in the same way the Super Chute rope bag is. The Super Chute closes fully and has handles and a shoulder strap which is much better if you like to carry your rope outside of your pack, or leave your rope on its own in the bed of a truck...etc... This bag would be good in the trunk of a car, but not in the bed of a truck. However, it is lighter than the Super Chute, so if you want a lightweight bag/tarp combo to go inside you pack, it is perfect for that.

Simple Yet Exquisitely Functional

This is my first rope bag. Took it out for its maiden voyage at the New River Gorge this past weekend and it absolutely crushed. Such a simple concept, yet genius at the same time. Use the flap as a tarp, fold your rope up like a burrito when you're done, shove it in the bag, and off you go to the next crag. Bada bing bada boom. My only slight concern is that the material seems a bit lightweight. It's a high quality material and has a nice pattern on it but its slightly thin so I'm curious how it will hold up to abuse. Can't take off any stars for that though... it's holding up great so far and the lightweightness is nice for keeping your gear bag lighter.

disappointed

This bag seems to be best for the gym, not long approaches hauling other gear even though it has an internal tarp. The bag does not cinch up tight and the shoulder strap does not adjust. I exchanged it for a Metolius rope bag. I was disappointed in this bag. I'd decided on a Black Diamond bag after using one of my friends. Apparently Black Diamond changed how they made the bag for whatever reason. My suggestion is they should change it back to the old design.

Works better than I expected!

Love that I’m able to keep my rope wrapped tightly and in a nice bag, but I was ecstatic to see that I can fit all of my gear in the bag as well! There’s ample room with a 60m rope to fit my shoes, chalk bag, harness, quickdraws, extra carabiner’s, ATC, and helmet! Love this bag, will use until I can’t anymore, and I’ll just buy a new one. Fantastic product.

Simple and functional

This is a great little bag, super simple and to the point. It also fits well inside my other packs when needed. I have a 70m rope in it now but an 80 would easily fit.

Good for the price, but not for long approach hike

Use: Exclusively outside for both long and short approaches Pros: Well Made Durable Fits my 10mm, 60m rope Cons: Small straps, so awkward/difficult to carry on long approaches Does not strap well to outside of bag, due to lack of closing mechanism To make this comfortable, you need a large enough bag to carry it in, because carrying it on its own is very uncomfortable. I will probably add backpack straps to it.

Awesome Like It’s Name!

This is a great rope bag with a great name! It’s super light weight and durable, perfectly roomy for the 60/70m ropes I use, and has a few awesome features. I’ve used this rope bag outdoors for about 2 years now and it has held up well! It is thin and lightweight, but even with being tossed around sharp Texas limestone it has 0 rips! It has fit many 60/70m ropes and rolls out super easy! Additionally, it has a nice sleek design that looks nice while belaying! Finally, it has some nice features like handles and red/green color coded tie-in points to know where your rope ends are!!! My only complaint is that it has an awkward shape and (in my opinion) a little too much unnecessary fabric that makes it hard to pack into my 40L Speed Bag. A lot of times, I’ll pack it in my bag while heading to the crag, then I’ll carry it out by the handles. I’ve wanted to check out the half-burrito, but haven’t been able to justify the purchase since this still functions perfectly fine. However, my previous bag/tarp was a circular shape and had a smaller rectangular tarp section and fit much better. Additionally, it had a single handle which could extend into a sling which I found very useful. BONUS: I climb in super hot West Texas and this bag has shown its versatility in that we have used it as a sunshade too! If you forget your sunscreen, you can put your head in the elastic rope section and use the tarp to protect yourself from the rays! So clutch!

All ya need

After decades of using a dozen attempts at reinventing the wheel, I’m psyched to find a rope bag that is as simple and intuitive as this. As a guide and educator, I am glad to leave behind all the superfluous buckles and straps- this product makes teaching kids how to bundle a rope much easier. The color coded tabs, the smaller and more easily packable package- they are great on courses and those increasingly rare times I can’t get someone else to bundle the rope up at the end of the day. :)
