GREAT First Revision

Eno nailed it on the comfort of this chair and on the adjustable height. The chair actually feels like you are sitting in a hammock, the comfort rocks! Love that I can snap the legs out of the way and sit in it at 6” off the ground. It puts me at nearly the same level as all my friends with their Alite Monarch or Mayfly chairs (the spring 2017 Eno Lounger is more comfortable than the Alite chairs). Having everyone else sitting low and you sitting up high makes you feel like you aren’t part of the group and if you’re playing cards it downright sucks. And, if I’m with a group of people with taller chairs I can slide the legs in and sit 18” high. While a little bit lower than many other chairs it gets me close enough. The padded arms are also great, they definitely add to the comfort. So, why didn’t I give the 2017 Eno Lounger 5 stars then, and why did I refer to it as a “First Revision”. 1) While all the other quality manufacturers have used high quality durable mesh in their chairs, Eno did not do that in the first revision of their chair. Down here in the SouthWest where it is already hitting close to 90 degrees the fabric reduces breathability significantly over mesh, making you sweat, and the comfortable high back just adds to the heat build-up as your back begins sweating. This severe design flaw will effect anyone who plans on using this where the temperature gets above 85 if there is any humidity. It’s advisable to wait for the next revision to come out that is sure to incorporate mesh into the chair. I should note that Eno placed three small holes where the center of your butt goes in the seat and despite friends joking that they were designed for people eating a lot of beans while camping I am sure they are designed to allow water drainage when it rains because otherwise a chair left in the rain would trap and hold water. The holes offer no breathability to speak of. 2) The cup holder was an afterthought and if you put a can in it, the can will hang at a near 65 degree angle. Essentially you’ll lose the top half of any beer you place in the cup holder. 3) The ability to clip the legs out of the way and sit at the lower position was great out of the box thinking (Congrats Eno, you raised the bar for all the chair manufacturers), but for anyone in the Southwest setting their chair on everything other than grass, soft dirt, or sand, I can only imagine the leg mounts will end up quickly torn up by decomposed granite and other rock prevalent here. Small nubs to replace the legs and protect the leg mounts will hopefully come when complaints come in. Again, this is the most comfortable chair around but I would hold off on purchasing till at minimum the mesh is added to the seat. If Eno followed in Alite’s footsteps and offered a reasonably priced (~$20) replacement seat slings (fabric portions) I would say it’s worth buying now knowing you will most likely want to replace the seat sling in the future.

Difficult to setup & down. Filmsy for its rating.

I bought this based on the description online. It was expensive but I believe you get what you pay for. The assembly instructions are a joke. After 25 minutes I finally put it together. If you weigh over 200 lbs., I wouldn't recommend it. It's also difficult to get out of. I spent another 20 minutes disassembling and re-bagging it. I returned the ENO Lounger and bought a Helinox Sunset chair. It was a few more dollars but was the difference between night and day. Easy assembly/disassembly, bigger and more stable, disassembled it's smaller and easily fits into a well-designed stowage bag. It's great, forget the ENO Lounger.

Well worth the sticker shock

I bought this chair specifically for moto-camping with my big adv bike, for use after a long day of riding so comfort was my top priority. I also wanted something that would fit into my panniers if possible, and this chair luckily fit the bill. It is extremely comfortable. You basically melt into it every time you sit down. And my favorite part is it actually has 3 settings: high, low, and reclined. All of which are unbelievably comfortable. I went car camping with it this weekend in Sequoia and while none of my friends would probably buy one themselves, they all seemed to understand why I had paid $120 for it. I would suggest buying a strap to go around the tubing for packing it up, made things much easier for me.

Best Chair ever

This past summer I went to the Boundary Waters on the Minnesota / Canada boarder and this chair was amazing. We were canoeing and had to do 5 portages with the longest one 1 mile and this chair was supper light. Super easy to put together. Put it together 1 or 2 times at home and it should only take 2 minutes. It will not take 20-25 minutes like Mike17 said. A friend of mine who normally will not spend this kind of money on a camping chair was so impressed he in now buying 2 chairs. I do recommend going to a store like REI first to sit in it to make sure you fit in it. I am 5'3" and 170 lbs and I fit in it. It will make you fall asleep in it.

very comfortable

I tried a number of camp chairs out at my local store. This was definitely the most comfortable (there was a recliner that was also pretty comfortable but too big and heavy for my purposes). I can fit this into both my fore and aft kayak hatches. It's nice, even for a day trip, to pull over in the afternoon, break out the chair and have a cup of coffee whilst sitting on the beach. I can fall asleep in this chair. You can sit in a more reclined position than in some other chairs I tried. Setup is pretty easy. I'm still working on being able to fold it up with the fabric and slip it into the storage bag but not a big problem. I love this chair.

Better than most “real” furniture

This chair is so cozy and comfy that I cut and placed golf balls on the four feet of this chair and use it in my home so as to protect my wood floors (the feet have small, hard bumps on them). Kind of like you see on some “walkers.”. My wife calls it my “tennis ball chair” and wishes they weren’t in our professionally decorated home, but all of our guests end up liking and sitting in them (I have 2 of them). I have a bunch of these high-end style chairs and love them all, but this one is the only one I can actually fall asleep in - and that says a lot. And I am a solid 220 pounds and it is very comfortable.

Best Camp Chair

Setup and take down is a two minute simple process. (Doesn't need directions.) Most comfortable camp chair I have ever sat in. Tried the Hellinox Sunset, and while it is lighter something about the back did not hit me right. In the Eno I am going to sleep. Downside of Eno is its weight, but I decided to take it on my 8 day Canadian canoe trip anyway, because there is nothing like having a place to rest the back at the end of a tough day.

Quality Lounger but will be hot in the summer

I was skeptical about spending over $100 on a chair I couldn't really backpack with but I received the lounger free after winning their photo contest. I'll explain what I think the pro's and con's are of the chair. PRO: It sets up easy (like a tent, not like a traditional collapsible accordion-style camp chair) and the quality is as one would expect from ENO (outstanding). The materials are strong rip-stop that feel like they'll last forever. It is super comfy to lounge back in and at 5'10" tall my head hits center on the pillow CON: The material is thick and will certainly be hot once the summer heat hits (especially here in hot/humid Florida). Some mesh would be nice. The cup holder is definitely an after-thought and is not suitable for a full drink as it wobbles and hangs at an angle. It's uncomfortable to sit up in, as it is fully reclined at all times and isn't the easiest chair to get in and out of Shorter people need-not apply as my 5'3" girlfriend's head doesn't reach the pillow. Conclusion: Considering I got the chair for free, I love it. If you're looking for a lounger that you can adjust the height of it's certainly a good product. I really hope, as another reviewer suggested, they make a mesh version of the seat which can be purchased separately from the frame down the road. All-in-all I think it's slightly overpriced but is excellent quality and, if found at a discount (like the annual sale here) it's worth a pick-up!

Great chair, nearly perfect

Just spent a weekend in this chair and I'm impressed! Pros: I really enjoyed the adjustable leg height, the "hammock-ish" feeling of being suspended within the frame, higher back with head rest and the easy break down. Cons: The frame is a bit creakier than I would like for the price, the cup holder is completely useless for an open container and there's not enough ventilation.
