Very comfortable!
Perfect shorts for me! After they came I immediately ordered another color. The fig is a deep burgandy brown great versatile color. The blue is lovely and perfect for showing off a tan. The legs are a bit wide for my med athletic legs but this adds to the comfort and is still flattering. I am usually on the border of the 12 waist if it's a slim cut item but these were perfect. If you are a slim waist 12 with slimmer stomach I may go size 10 as the 12 leaves me a bit of room and I am thicker in waste but have small legs. I am 5'8" and weigh 170. Great shorts for any activity and with a long sleeve linen shirt or light flannel they are great for dressing up and evening.
Cute fit! Size down & wait for a sale.
I've tried these on a few times over the last few years, but finally bit the bullet this summer on the 4" mid-rise corduroy in 'Fern' when they went on sale. There is something painful about a $75 price tag on a pair of somewhat thin shorts with a raw hem, so I have always passed on them until they dropped below $50 (this is still a splurge). However, the length and mid rise are super flattering on a variety of body types and I don't feel like I'm being pinched in at the waist. Still TBD on how they will hold up over many washings. I appreciate the ethos of the company though and their commitment to sustainable fabrics. For sizing: I'm a true size 4, and always have to size down to 2 in this style. I'm 5'7", 27" waist and 37" hip.
Runs HUGE
I never write reviews but felt I needed to for this item. I am a size 2 in everything. 5’7” and 120# lean, athletic hourglass build. I tend to have athletic quads and glutes so if something doesn’t fit it’s usually bc of that. I ordered a size 2 based on the size chart. The waist was so big I could literally pull them up and down OVER my thighs and bum without unbuttoning them. There was about 4-5 inches of extra material. Ginormous! The material was also very thin and cheap feeling. I have no problems paying extra for quality gear but this missed almost every mark for me. Even the size zero would have been too big. Size down at least two sizes.
Have these in 2 colors
Have these in 2 colors now. Love them! Usually a size 4 but the size 2 fit me better.
Newer Version Runs Small
I've got 4 pairs of these, last years version (2019) ran more true to size, I opt for a size 8 (150 5'4, athletic build with pear shape). They have some give in the tummy on me but its comfortable. The newer version I just got in Coral and Moss Green are tighter in the thighs so I'll size up to 10. Overall, I think these run small so I would opt for 2 pairs and return what doesn't fit for you. The CORAL is SUPER cute, a neon like pink! I love my blue ones and wear these all the time, casual, dress up with a blouse or on the go (hiking/biking) since they're lighter weight than denim and super soft!
Great for athletic legs
Love these shorts. They are soft and stretchy. I am slim (5'6" 120 lbs) but have athletic thighs and post-babies stomach. I measure 31" at the waist and 38" in the hips and a Size 4 fits great. I usually wear a Size 27 in stretch jeans. The waist is loose but not in an awkward way. I actually find it comfortable that I don't have to suck in at all to button my shorts. These are a little bit on the shorter size than I usually wear but it works even though I'm in my mid-40's.
Favorite shorts I own several
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love these shorts! Compared to other colors I own I’m unsure if these are true to size or not. I have 14s in other colors and they are baggy. The cumin is a tighter fit.
I love them so much I bought a second pair
These shorts are so comfortable and fit well. I always get compliments on them when I wear them. I'm 5'5" 135 and usually between a 4 and 6, I bought these in a 4 and they're perfect.
Comfortable and Cute
I really like these shorts. I bought a pair in cinnamon and liked them so much I'm back for the azul and olive. They are super comfortable, not too short and they look great. Hard combo to find with shorts. Definitely definitely order a size down. I'm a size 6 in just about everything so I ordered a six and a four, based on other reviews. The six is going back, the four is a perfect fit.
I love these shorts.
I lived in these shorts this summer, and recently bought another pair since they're on sale. Be aware, they do run large, check the size chart carefully. I usually wear a size 4, but a size 2 in these fit me with room to spare (I'm a 28in waist, 35in hip). I was a bit concerned that corduroy shorts might overheat me in the bowl of humidity that is Nashville in the Summer, but I stayed cool! The fabric has a bit of stretch so they're comfy, but they hold their shape well. I have worn them consistently for 3 months in the sun and they still look nice, the color has not faded, and they feel durable.
