Sizing Notes

For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

It was time to replace my climbing shoes & I purchased 3 different pairs of climbing shoes from REI which I was unhappy with. REI returned each pair (which is why I shop at REI) getting me to these shoes the technical performance is amazing, they are sticky and also come with comfort! I highly recommend these shoes.

I've been a diehard mythos fan for years. When my last pair wore out I didn't hesitate to try the new eco version. I was so disappointed to find that they don't have the same fit or grip as the original. Probably still ok for beginners, but if you loved the old mythos, these are not a replacement :-(

Disgusting Quality

Quality of the leather and laces(!) on these shoes are far below my other pair of original Mythos. I’m disappointed :( I hope they withstand two weeks of training until I find another pair.

Climbing Enhancement

I have worn La Sportiva Mythos climbing shoes for more than 20 years. They fit my feet so well and are great for smearing and edging. I won't buy anything else.

Very comfortable. Great beginner shoe

SUPER comfy (for climbing shoes!). I can keep these on all day with no discomfort and laugh while my friend throws her climbing shoes off while I'm still lowering her down. Worn at the gym and outside for a few years now and they do stretch some so size down a half or full size to street shoes. The sole has good stick to it and lasts decently well. The laces make it super easy to adjust them to the right fit (even after the leather shoes has stretched a bit). Good choice for wider feet as the laces allow for a lot of fit flexibility. The perfect beginner shoe as it's comfy but still grips!

great shoe!

Very comfy. Heel was initially a little loose but that’s when I realized why people take the laces and tie them around the bottom/arch. Perfect once they were tied like that. I wear a 7-7.5 in sandals and dress shoes, 8-8.5 in gym shoes. I bought a 38 (size 7) and they fit great. I’ve climbed about 15 hours in them and I haven’t experienced much stretch. Could I have gone down another half size? Probably. But my toes would have been crammed. Currently they go right up to the end of the shoe. They also climb really well. Smearing is great. Small edges have been nice. They really stick. There’s also not a bunch of padding around the sides and top like some shoes (scarpa vaper) which is good for me. My feet sweat and that padding feels gross after awhile.

After about 20 pairs….A winner!

I tried on sooooo many pairs of shoes at REI it was ridiculous. There were so many shoes that I had to size way up on to even get a fit that wasn’t painful. My first three toes are fairly long, so with many climbing shoes having a sharp angle towards the pinkie toe, my middle toes would get crushed - even if I was wearing the right size. This shoe was the only one that didn’t have a super sharp angle, and it made a huge difference. I wear a size 9 and ended up getting a size 40. I did recommend them to a friend but they didn’t work on her foot shape.

Great Beginner's Shoe!

I've only been bouldering a handful of times, but decided to get my own pair of shoes and went to the store to try them on for fit. These shoes are super comfortable and true to size. I'm generally a 38 in Birkenstocks and I was also a 38 in the La Sportiva Mythos Eco. My toes hit the front of the shoe for a snug fit but I could stand perfectly fine without my foot being crunched up or my heel being pushed up against the back of the shoe. I tried a couple of Scarpa shoes while I was in store but I sized up twice from my regular size because the shoes were so tight. I felt like I could slip on this shoe with comfort. I've used my shoes at the climbing gym as well as outside and they're a great neutral shoe. I don't climb often enough to notice any quick wear and tear but from the three times I've used them, including using them outside, they seem fine and I'm pretty pleased!

Good!

I am a beginner climber and have been using these In a gym for about a year. They are extremely comfortable, and I’ve enjoyed them! I got a size euro 39 bc the chart says it would be a 7.5 (my shoe size) They fit fine but after a while they started to seem slightly big! I would go down a quarter if I were to buy again. (Since there are no quarter sizes In this, i would still go down a half size)

Laces broke and seams on outside came undone

Laces broke after a handful of climbs out and seams are busting on the sides. I will be returning to REI since I just bought at the beginning of October and only taken them out climbing a few times. Hopefully the replacement pair will hold up better and this was just a shoddy pair. They are incredibly comfortable and perform well enough for an all day shoe.
