Wahoo Bicycling cadence sensor add-on

I replaced a conventional Sigma wireless computer with a Wahoo Element. I depend on cadence RPMs for road riding, so I bought this. Unfortunately, this non-magnet design (accelerometer?) tends to jump around: 90, 60, 70, back to 90 and so on. That renders it mostly useless for me, and I'd prefer a magnet design like the old Sigma, which was rock-solid. Furthermore, the $40 sensor fell out of the soft silicone holder on the pedal arm. After searching the road for an hour, I finally found it. I glued it in this time. I wouldn't have bought a replacement.

Works, is accurate, but...

I use it for my indoor trainer, and while it does pair with the trainer and transmits accurate data, I get several options that show up for cadence sensors and its not clear which one it is (no other sensors in the area). So one sensor shows up under 4 different names. Is that my trainers fault or the sensors fault? Dunno.

Husband loves it

Got this for my husband as a birthday gift. He really likes it and says it works well. So far he has used it on his road bike with the Wahoo Kickr Snap trainer. He uses the Zwift app and he said it was super easy to connect the sensor with the app. So far so good!

It "just works" but with one flaw

This is an easy to us and install sensor. It comes with a silicon/rubber holder that can be zip-tied to the left side crank arm. It can also be glued on. There is no switch. It just wakes up with it detects moments. You could even attach it you your shoe. It just has to be were it can detct peddeling motion. However there is one flaw. It is VERY hard to open the case to replace the battery and you WILL damage the case when you change the battery. There is a slot where you can use a coin or wide/flat screwdriver to pry the case open but the slot is poorly designed and the plastic is soft so after it is opened once it will no longer look so new. It can not be opened without cosmetic damage But the damage is only cosmetic and the unit is covered with the silicon holder and no one will see it. Garmin makes a product that directly competes with this and theirs is easy to open to replace the battery but this Wahoo unit looks nicer and has a more steamlinded holder. Operationally the Garmn and Wahoo are very much the same ad cn be interchanged.

Wahoo is always good.

All things Wahoo have worked as expected, and better than all others tried. Can't say enough about quality and ease of use for all Wahoo products. Very good customer support as well, if ever needed.
