Great travel/casual rain coat/zipper can be a pain
Bought this jacket before a trip to Sweden/Hungary in late November/early December. Read a lot of reviews beforehand and decided on this jacket due to price in comparison to other ArcTeryx products. It served as a windbreaker/rain jacket during my travels and sincerely kept me dry, even during my walking tour in pouring down rain for 2.5 hours while in Budapest. I bought the Shorepipe color (quite lovely) in a size Medium. Had ordered the Lynx color and the lighter grey too in Small and Medium sizes because they were not in my local REI at the time. Loved all the colors, would've gotten the lighter grey had it been available in a Medium at the time! I am 5'2 with short everything (short torso, short legs, short arms, small bust, you get it) and fit into a Small just fine, though went a size up because I knew I would be layering and wanted that extra room. I gave it four stars simply because as many other reviews say, the zipper can be a pain. It is difficult to get the zipper aligned initially and can be cumbersome to zip up quickly, especially while wearing gloves. Small detail that I've come to accept and deal with, though for the price the zipper shouldn't be that difficult. Would still recommend it for all other intents and purposes!

So many compliments!

I have received so many compliments on this jacket!! Women notice how structured and flattering it is vs. a typical oversized rain coat. Love the details...pockets that keep things dry, elastic at wrist vs. Velcro tabs that snagged my scarves and the length is perfect! I wear a US size 4 and am petite. Got a small and could not be happier! I would like to stow the hood when not needed but that's a small price to pay for the many benefits of this coat. Thank you, Arcteryx!! Once again you manage to combine function with style! PS...Despite reviews reporting of a challenging zipper I didn't find that...I've figured it out and make it work.

Great coat

The codetta coat is great! I'm a tall woman so I appreciate the long sleeves. There is just enough room to add a payer underneat, but not so much that the coat looks baggy and unflattering. The only tricky part might be under the armpits, where there is not so much room, but it hasn't cause me problem so far. The design and quality is very good. I haven't had problem with the zipper like many people seemed to have. I'm also happy that for once, the color options don't include pink. It seems like outdoor clothing brands think that if you are a woman, you systematically want to wear pink. Thank you for replacing the pink color by something else in the fall 2018 options!

Love it!

I absolutely love this jacket! It fits beautifully and is a little longer than some of my other jackets... more of a car coat... and I wear it all the time, not just in wet weather. Although... I did get caught in a heavy storm one day and I was positive there was no way I was getting out of it unscathed. When I got home and removed my coat I was perfectly dry. In fact, there was a sharp line on my jeans where the coat ended. Everything below was soaked to the bone; everything above was bone dry. I have many Arc’teryx jackets for various activities but this one is a little more fitted and stylish so it’s more of my go-to for work. Packs easily on my tote when I don’t need it.

not the color pictured

The color Ixora is not the bright pink pictured it is a flat red/raspberry. If I pay $340 for a jacket it needs to be exactly what I hope for so it’s not what I saw pictures so I’ll be returning it unused. It seems to maybe run a tad small, then again it’s early January so I may be running a tad large...the bust was just about right which isn’t the case for me usually so if you want extra layering space I’d say size up 2 sizes.

So nice we bought it twice!

Versatile jacket. The cut is flattering and I love the color of mine - Shorepine (green.) I wear it hiking as well as in the city. I find it is a great length (nice to have the longer length) and often am asked where I bought my jacket as it is rare to see a stylish waterproof trench coat. It really is a stylish way to be completely dry. I wore this jacket visiting Edmonton, Alberta and my best friend fell in love with it and ordered one for herself. My friend visited Vancouver in April found us both grateful for the fitted hood and water tight zippers. Our jackets took us from hiking to dinner and everything in between. We felt stylish and dry the entire time. I would recommend the Serium LT Vest to layer underneath for some added warmth as the jacket is a shell only with no insulation. I bought a Medium so that I could layer underneath for some insulation (I am 5'2" and 140lbs)

Awesome Quality

I have a few arcteryx items and this lives up to the standards. Super cute and reliable, I work in childcare and I'm always outside hiking or bending down and I never feel restricted like I would expect in a longer jacket but that may be because the zipper doesn't start all the way down, but dont worry I never get wet there either. I like to size up in the jackets to be free and this jacket doesn't leave me with huge dangly sleeves, they're slimming and perfect. I am also able to fit a layer under, and I love how light this and how it feels. The jacket also seems to be holding its colour and not staining very much and I always seem to get dirt on the sleeve and it just piles off or fades. Love love love!

Not happy...

I bought this jacket a month ago. I found the description misleading, because the length is not what I was expecting, too short for my body.... The zipper is terrible, and I’m having trouble every time I put it on. I’m returning it for Patagonia rain parka.

Excellent jacket

I also have an Arcteryx waterproof but find myself using the Codetta jacket much more. It is longer, which is very useful both for walking and cycling, extremely light and very comfortable to wear. I cycle a lot and the slits at the back are life savers. The hood is also big enough to accommodate a riding helmet. The jacket is both elegant and practical. Its only fault is that it does not have any pockets apart from the two outside pockets, but I can see that this would make the garment heavier. I wish there were more colours, though. A darker beige would be very welcome.
