Excelled add-on to carry four bikes!
Well built hitch rack for bikes. We bought this add-on to carry four bikes with our 2009 Honda Odyssey. We just leave this rack on the back all the time. Loading bikes is now a breeze. I can load four bikes in a few minutes. Securing them is a breeze as well. There are two points of securement - one hoop like attachment that goes over the front wheel and folds away when not needed; the second is a strap that holds the rear wheel in place on the rack. The racks come with a built in cable lock as well, and it stows away nicely when not in use. We got a hitch from Discount Hitch on our 2009 Odyssey and it works like a charm. The rack folds up when not in use with the pull of a lever. It is definitely on the heavier side. Folding up and down does take some effort. The whole setup with the add-on is probably about 80-90 pounds. The rack has a tilt-down feature that comes in handy when you need to open the trunk. Only con is the weight of the rack. But, good strength comes with weight. This is a well thought out, well designed and well built rack!
Good rack read before buy!
This rack in its self hands down a beautiful looking rack when its in two bikes or four bikes configuration setup. The only thing to consider before buying and adding this extension to the Kuat NV 2.0 base is your vehicle hight. I have this on a 2019 4Runner TRD Pro and with that SUV car hight if you have the four slot fully load with bikes(road or MTB) the rack will hit the ground this is on level ground. The other thing is that you will need two people to pivot the rack if you plan on getting anything out from your truck while the rack is fully loaded with four bikes. One person has to disengage the lock release while the other holds the end from dropping. When the extension is added on the rack there is a good amount of weight now. I would not recommend this for any van or any car under full-size SUV just do to the height that you will need to pivot the rack if you plan on getting to your trunk.
Nice Designed Add-on, but Beware!
I am a HUGE fan of the NV 2.0 Rack, we got it to carry our eBikes which weigh in at around 50lbs. The base NV2.0 rack is rated for two bikes at up to 60lbs each. You will find that with this add-on, ALL 4 BIKES are now de-rated to max of 40lbs each! I called Kuat to discuss options and to understand what the failure mode would be if the rack was overloaded. They said that the rack would "sag" if overloaded but not violently fail. I asked about adding nylon cargo straps from my Jeep's top racks down to the Add-On section of the bike racks to unload them some and provide additional support and stabilization to the bikes. They said that that would work well. I added the straps and now the 4 bike setup with 4 eBikes is stable and solid, even if I stand on the rack! So now I'm very happy with the setup. I like that I can install the NV2.0 base rack, then attach the Add-on as needed with very little effort as each piece alone is not too heavy for me to handle alone. I did get their optional Bike Ramp for easier loading. If you buy this add-on, you will need to order two extra ramp clips for it as well, only two clips come with the ramp.
Excellent ease of use; heavy
Love this bike rack and the extension. Allows for easy loading and unloading of our 4 bikes, especially compared with other racks. No need for the repositioning or reconfiguring exercise. Great to be able to load and go after a camping trip. Only drawback for me is the weight. Rack with extension is heavy, easily a two person task for many.

Superb - I was skeptical at first that an add on attachment to the original rack may be troublesome or not solid - Zero concerns - this is bomb proof. Bikes are super stable

Good Rack, Hard to Put Together
I was first given the wrong hitch sized rack so I went back and got the right hitch sized rack but this new rack is scratched. It was very difficult putting it together. Now that it is put together we are enjoying it.
Not adjustable at all, doesn’t even fit 4 bikes
Can’t adjust the tire holders at all, basically impossible to fit 4 bikes without lowering seats/adjusting handlebars 90 degrees. If you try to put 4 bikes, especially mtbs, the handlebars knock against each other and the seats of other bikes. Terrible product, very disappointing from a reputable company.
4 Can Ride
The 2-Bike add on means that I can carry the whole family's bikes to any destination very easily. It seamlessly extended the NV 2.0 rack to a capable 4-bike setup.
