Works great but…
if you’ve had this protector on your frame for a long time, it might not be a good idea to take it off at that point. I tried this on my road bike and it ended up taking some of the paint with the tape.
interesting design and doesn’t stay on perfectly
I bought this in store to replace the chain stay protector that came on my trek domane. The lizard skin one chose form over function, in my opinion, with the cutout design exposing part of the chain stay. I feel like a solid piece without those cutout designs would be a better design, functionally. I also cleaned off the old residue with isopropyl, ensuring it was perfectly clean, and the new protector started coming up overnight without even using it. I keep pushing it down, hoping it’ll eventually stay. But, I’m not convinced. Time will tell.
Great Product
Easy to install, been on my Volcanic for over two years, shows no sign of coming off.
Good chainstay protector
Worked well initially but the edges started to peel off after a few months. But this could have been user error. It did not dampen the noise made by the chain but it protected the chainstay very well.

Lizard skins are very durable and stylish. Blended in with my bike very well and has held up to gravel riding.

Easy to apply for a perfect fit
Replaced the original protector used on the chain stay of my road bike. For a 56 size frame I had to add the extension that came on the pack. It was easy to apply for a perfect fit. The only improvement I would add is to eliminate the cutouts because the chain might still slap in unprotected areas chipping the paint off. So far after more than 1,000 miles the protector looks like new.
Adhesive could be better.
I bought these to protect my frame from rubbing against my bike rack. I used the two smaller sections on the spot where it was rubbing. They do protect it from the rubbing but they move around due to the lack of sufficient adhesive. Although it is not intended for this type of constant friction, it could have held up better.
Cheap product
You definitely get what you pay for here. Fairly bad quality protective patches that feel thin and cheap. Definitely wouldn't put my mind at ease and plan on returning them. Would definitely recommend investing in some higher quality protectors.
