Fantastic!

Went into REI's flagship store to find a soft shell and this was on display out front. It was the best deal I could find for soft shell and I couldn't be happier after this weekend. I hiked up two 14ers in CO, mid-late October, and while the sun was shining and warm, 50s, but the wind was chilly and 40-50 mph consistently with some stronger bursts at the top and on the ridge line. When I hit the wind I ditched everything but this and a T-shirt and was the perfect temp while moving. It had great breathability and I didn't overheat at all. I was a little chilly after I stopped moving for more than a few minutes but thats was expected for a synthetic insulator. My only complaint would be the hood doesn't have an adjustable strap.

Brings happiness to my soul!

This jacket is honestly one of my favorite jackets I have ever owned (and I own a lot...). Every feature of this jacket is amazing and when you put it on it is like being embraced by the warm silky clouds of outdoor heaven. It makes me sad when it is too hot to wear. The Polartec insulation truly regulates temperature dynamically and it adjusts according to what your body needs. It's amazing how great this jacket feels and looks. I have received tons of compliments and I am constantly asked by male and female friends if they can borrow it. Just try the jacket on and it will sell itself. If you can't try it on before just take my word for it and you won't regret it.

This is really overdue, but THANKS SO MUCH (we hope the capital letter compensate for our tardiness) for writing a review on our website. It really helps other people know what our products are like and if they should take a chance on this company that has an odd obsession with llamas :) Let us know if there's ever anything we can do to help!

Great Jacket/Mid Layer

I've had this jacket for almost a month and it's becoming one of my favorite jackets. I'm 6'3" 200lbs and wear an XL. The fit is great, not baggy as you would expect an XL sized jacket to be. For lanky people this jacket is great because the arms on this bad boy are pretty long. It's also a great mid-layer for those cold ascents or windy days on the mountain. The pacaya jacket also allows for a full range of motion without binding or tearing at the seams which is a huge plus. I highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a warm lightweight jacket for adventures out in the neature.

Great stand alone or mid-layer jacket

This jacket is my new every day. The whole jacket rolls into a stuff sack (doubles as pillow) and the pockets outside are warm and zippered. The inner pocket is zippered. The materials are great and lightweight. The neck for is great too. It zips all the way up no problem with plenty of room to spare. Love it!

Mas china us!

The Q'eqchi' people are some of the most humble, grateful and happy people to be around. Having the chance to live among them in the Alta Verapaz highlands of Coban it makes me so happy and grateful to Cotopaxi for making this available to them. Mas china us in the Q'eqchi' dialect means very beautiful and this jacket is that and more. I was stoked to see this jacket, having come from a nanopuff jacket without any stretch under the arms I dreamed of finally being able to lift the ol' gorilla arms above my head without pulling the shirt up with it and having full range like any good adventure piece should. Plus no armpit bunching! All in all, two thumbs way up! Be well and Cha qu la quip- (more or less Q'eqchi' for Happy Trails!)

Great jacket from a great company

I'm really happy with the features and warmth for the weight of this jacket. I've been perfectly warm hiking with only a base layer in temperatures in the 40s, but haven't tried this in super cold temps yet. The fabric feels delicate to me, but the Cotopaxi site brags about its durability and the construction seems high quality, with no stitching issues, tears or insulation popping out anywhere. DWR treatment has kept me completely dry in light rain so far and the stretch paneling under the arms is nice to avoid pulling and bunching when reaching. The arms are also a little on the long side, which isn't an issue with the comfortable elastic cuffs. I like the toggle adjustments around the waist, which have a clever locking mechanism. I also love the colors of this jacket; they're not quite like anything else you'll see on the trail or in town. There are some minor trade-offs here, probably to keep weight down: the zipper pulls are low-profile and hard to grip with gloves on. There is no hood adjustment, which means it doesn't rotate with your head and can make looking around a little awkward. The pockets are not lined, which might be a big deal in really low temps. While the jacket is nicely compressible, I've had trouble stuffing it into the internal pocket as advertised, which is a bit of a bummer. If it could actually stuff it into the internal pocket and had a hood adjustment, I'd give it 5 stars. Overall, I love this jacket and it's coming with me whenever I go outside. I'll probably look for any excuse to wear it even as the weather warms up. I'm also happy to support a company like Cotopaxi that does right by its employees.

Greatest thing since sliced bread

I got this jacket as a Christmas present and I have nothing bad to say about it. I love it. I have the large size as a 6'3" 200lb guy and I still have room to put two or three layers of clothes underneath the jacket. The jacket is small enough to put under a larger winter coat if it is that cold outside as well. The jacket blocks wind very well, relatively water resistant, warm, the hood is great, and the zippers leave no extra space for extra air to come in. Overall excellently made.

Great All-Around Jacket and perfect mid layer for colder days

I've had this jacket for a few months and it is a jacket i wear frequently. I'm 5'6" and 130lbs and wear a small. I like the fit of the jacket is snug and not too baggy. it fits well underneath a slim fitting hardshell jacket. i wear this for brisk autumn days, windy days, and really cold days underneath my shell. it is a versatile jacket - it works great for active, recreational, and casual pursuits.

Great jacket for a great cause

I just got the Pacaya in the mail and it is so light! I am 5'10" and 185lbs and the medium fits me great. It easily rolled up I to the hood and disappeared into the bottom of my backpack. The cuffs were a bit more snug than I am used to, but after a couple minutes I actually loved them. A lot of jackets constantly let you know you are wearing a jacket (excessively noisy, restrict movement, heavy, too hot, etc...) but the Pacaya just works. Once you put it on, you forget it's even there until you see it in the mirror. I was a little worried that the Orange would be too bright for me, but it is a nice subdued orange that isn't too in your face. Both my wife and I both thought it looked really good, and after trying mine on, she wants to get the Women's version. Also, knowing that the purchase of this jacket (and all Cotopaxi products) contributed to a good cause feels great. I highly recommend this jacket. For a great review of this jacket check out BlackOwl Outdoors on YouTube.
