No more dangling drink tube
Works as advertised. I use my hydration pack when cycling and the drink tube would flop all over the place. This clips onto the chest strap or arm strap. Tube end is held in place magnetically and swivels as needed. Magnet holds strong enough to keep in place when jostling about but releases easily when needed.

Love/Hate
Seemed like a great idea, until the tube clip portion fell off on the trail never to be seen again. I would really like to just purchase the tube clip since I already have the magnetic holder on my pack, but in reality I'll probably just lose the clip portion again.

Gotta know how to use it

I see a lot of people complaining about the function of this trap. This is a snap-shut, slide-open sort. It isn't meant to just pull it off like, say, Osprey's offering. Personally, I find this one better because Osprey's never stayed put, granted I am very rough on my gear. I find that if you mount it to the bottom half of your shoulder strap, with the opening of the base pointed back, it works great. It's not like you're going to grab it while your bike is moving, unless you want to risk losing control of your bike. Then, to take the hose, just slide it backwards with a fingertip or two. The base has spring-loaded teeth that are slanted so the magnet pushes them open as it pulls the tube part into it. I've only had it come off once, and that was because I tried to put it on a strap that was narrower than it was intended for, which is my only gripe about it. Otherwise, superb product.

Works great with modified clip

I noticed many reviews that mentioned losing the clip. With a small zip tie looped around the hose and thru the hole on the clip, it stays on very securely. Other than that one minor issue, this is a great product. sure beats having your hose flopping around or fumbling to tuck it into a strap while riding.

Convenient and works well

This item keeps the end of your hydration tube out of the way, but easily accessible. The magnets are very strong, and I've never had a problem with the two pieces coming apart accidentally. The way it's designed, the part that attaches to the tubing can be fastened to the other part by either inserting it from straight above or sliding it in from the side. However, it can only be removed by sliding it out the side. This doesn't cause a problem in using it. This version is for the CamelBak Crux reservoir, and fits tubing with an O.D. (outside diameter) of about 7/16" (0.438", 11.1mm). The I.D. (inside diameter) of the piece that clips onto the tubing is 0.415" (10.5mm) with no tubing in place. I also have an earlier version of the Tube Trap intended for use with 3/8" O.D. tubing. I don't know if CamelBak still sells it. On both versions of the Tube Trap that I have, the part that fastens to a strap has the brand name "Fidlock" molded into it; I'm guessing they manufacture it for CamelBak. Fidlock appears to be based in Germany.

that pesky tube

This holds the tube nicely without the tube flopping around but still easy to take a drink and put back in the holder. Works well with the insulated tube also

Awesome addition to any pack with a water bladder.

I own several backpacks with water bladders, one is a camelback pack, the other is an off-name brand. Fitted both with this item (thankfully, each pack had narrow nylon strips that allowed this to be fitted), much easier to un snap, drink, re-snap. We're major outdoor enthusiasts, lots of hiking and camping in the eastern sierras and Mendocino, Sonoma coasts in California. Even use it in a pack on my ocean kayak for day long fishing trips on the ocean.

Like everyone else - lost it third hike

Great idea, lousy execution. Pricy to start with even if it was good - but to spend that for something that falls off for everyone - ridiculous.

Magnet is not strong enough, one end will get lost

I used this for hiking and hated it. The magnet isn't strong enough, so the tube just keeps popping out making the whole thing useless. And each time it pops off, you have to fuss with it to relatch. Luckily, the end that clips on the tube will get lost quite quickly so you don't have to be annoyed by this thing malfunctioning all the time.

Great concept but...

Great concept however I kept having to fiddle with the piece that connects to the chest strap. It kept coming off. The slots should be on opposite ends or in the middle to keep the strap from slipping out. Likely will not use for my next trek unless I can find a better place to attach it to where the reservoir hose does not kink.
