Tank of tire

I live in Alaska and as you might imagine we have some pretty icy/sloppy roads. This tire excels over ice and plows through gravel and light snow. It's not great in any serious snow as the tread doesn't really clean itself well. The best thing about this tire is that it rolls well on pavement. It's a heavy tire but I run it at 50psi on a Trek Crockett and I find them fairly comfortable to ride (even the 33tpi version). I highly recommend so long as you're keeping it on hardpack/ice or pavement.

Roll well on dry roads and grip great on ice

By adjusting the tire pressure you can have the best of both worlds. When the pavement is dry I keep these tires at the highest inflation pressure and there’s very little contact with the studs. When there’s snow and ice I reduce the pressure and they grip extremely well even though they only have one row of studs on each edge of the tire.

Ride confidently on snow & ice

I bought these tires so I could keep commuting through the winter, and so far they have performed very well. They have kept me upright through a variety of conditions -- fresh snow, packed snow/ice, mixed crud, slush, and dry roads mixed with black ice. I had some difficulty in slush, but that's to be expected with all but the biggest and burliest winter tires. I keep pressure at about 40 psi, which seems to provide great traction and a ride that isn't too harsh.

Studs for buds

Got me through 400 miles of snow and ice packed roads and trails in December 2020. Good traction and gave slowing and stopping confidence.

Grips well

Newbie to winter biking. Bought these. LOVE THEM!!! First ride I purposely rode on icy spots and had no problems. Only draw back is when mounting on rim, do not go by reflective strip on sidewall. it is not even.....

Totally worth it.

Never owned a pair of studded tires before. Bought them specifically to travel in wet, icy conditions here in NYC. They provided exceptional traction for my Surly Troll (loaded with gear for work) and peace of mind.
