Used this for the first time this weekend doing Rainier via Kautz. I love how compact this thing rolls up into, compared to my regular padded rock harness. The Petzl is aso incredibly lightweight. I did a short rap in this harness and it didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. I purchased a S/M but will exchange this for a M/L so it can fit better over my layers. It got the job done this weekend but having my harness under my jacket made it harder to access gear. Also, the gear loops are very thing pieces of chord, so I suggest hood-gate biners for racking.
I put off buying a harness until this one was released. So happy I did. Crazy light, disappears in your pack until you need it, I'm convinced it is the best lightweight harness on the market today.
I've had it for about three years. I've used it for indoor climbing, outdoor climbing and some canyoneering. I've also carried it a couple of times when I summited half a dozen 14ners last year. I really love the light weight and the convenience the buckles afford when I put it on. But the gear loops are really thing. I know they are made of dyneema. I'm not sure how durable they'll be. This is my only concern. Still 5 stars though.
My favorite thing about a piece of climbing kit is when I don’t even realize I’m using it, allowing me to focus on the task at hand. This harness is the perfect exemplification of that: lightweight, comfortable, and bomber.
