SOUL Orthotics are the only insoles I wear!!
I have been using the Sole orthotics for at least 10 years. Prior to that I used other over the counter brands as well as very expensive prescription versions. The Soul beats them all hands down. Had plantar fasciitis in 2010 when I found the Soul Orthotics. Wore them for one race, which happened to be a 100 miler, and the PF went away, never to return again. Been using them ever since; they are in every running shoe. During this time span I have ran 80+ ultras including 14 100 milers. And each pair lasts 2-3 years although I know I have a pair or two that are 5 years old. My feet are not an issue any more!!

New Cork Sole Insoles Not the same
The revamped Sole Performance Insoles with cork bottoms DO NOT last. I have purchased these insoles for a long time. The old model with black bottoms lasted much longer. These lasted one month before they cracked.

Don't leave home without them!

Having bee through Superfeet, Dr Scholl's and heaps of other inserts, I have landed here and here I am to stay. On my 3rd pair, I learned from a nice you fitting technician at REI that I should ignore the size and just find the larger or small size to have an insert that conforms as purchased to my heel and arch. I have a long long high arch and wearing a size 12 or 12.5, buying 13s, I buy size 14 inserts and trim the toes. Perfect. No molding to fit required and the heel cup just snuggles my heel. Thank you REI fitting technicians! The world is a better place with you there providing knowledge and experience.

A "must have" if you have high arches.

These are a "must have" if you have high arches. I train and coach all day. Without SOLE's my feet fatigue faster which compromises my function. Also, I do not wear socks so the surface texture of the SOLE's help to keep my feet connected to the shoe. The biggest problem is they do not work in my ALTRA running shoes. With an oversized toe box, the SOLE's leave a 1/2 inch gap on both sides of my front foot which is irritating. I would love it if they made them with an oversize forefoot. I already wear a size 13, the biggest they make so I cant cut down a larger size to fit.

Right side feels great. Left side not so much

After putting the right sole into my skate ski boot, I could feed the difference right away. However when I went to put the heated up left insole into my left boot, it bunched up and the cork cracked. Now I have a bump that is extremely uncomfortable. It sounds like the company changed the material to this weak cork stuff. There's bits and pieces of cork crumbled up in my boot, and I don't think I'll be able to ski with them. Wish it wouldn't have happened, because I can tell they would make quite the difference!

Use of cork in Sole insoles not a good change

Recently purchased the SOLE Performance medium insoles and I am disappointed in the change of materials that made up this insole. For what ever reason the company the makes SOLE insoles has changed the materials that make up their insoles. I noticed that the manufacturer is now using cork which does not appear to work as well as the previous material that they used.

Purchased for all my boots

I've bought three pairs of these insoles over the past few years. I loved the first set so much I got them for my winter hiking boots and again for a new pair of summer boots. Out of the box, they've aligned very well with the shape of Vasque and Han Wag insoles. I've just had to make minimal trims using fabric sheers. For me, the cork as held up well for at least 2 years of use. I like that they can be heat molded, but it's not required. They do seem to naturally shape to my feet with several days of use. I have odd and uneven arches, along with a collapsing arch under flexing conditions. These have been a huge help with boot fit and underfoot comfort.

Old verson were great, the new are horrible

I rarely write reviews, but my disappointment over the new design has lead me to do so. I bought a new set of these, after having an pair of them I used nearly every summer for over 7 or so years. I have very high arches and absolutely loved the original design, and they withstood some pretty aggressive abuse- I do fieldwork in the jungles of central America, and these insoles would give me the ability to make cheep rubber boots even more comfortable than most hiking boots, so I could essentially hike for extended distances with little discomfort. I recently opted to buy some new ones for my regular, vasque hiking boots, since I am now working in an area with less rain. The cork soles totally failed and broke apart after one month of relatively light fieldwork/ hiking in SE Asia during the dry season. I also found them less comfortable than the old design. I am not necessarily expecting them to last forever like my old ones, but for the price, falling apart after a month is somewhat ridiculous. I don't see these withstanding any sort of thru hike, and definitely wouldn't stand up to a single season of intense fieldwork. I plan on returning them, and sadly will be giving another brand a shot for my upcoming work trip to SE Asia. I do support using more renewable materials, however, in this instance I feel like it was at the expense of any sort of durability.

Cracked when putting insole in my shoe

These cork insoles crack when longitudinally flexing them while inserting them into a low volume shoe. That was not a problem with the previous model. Don't waste your money.

Custom fit your shoes!!!

For the last few months, I’ve been wearing the Sole Active and the Sole Performance. The active is a lower profile that fit nicely in my ultimate cleats and my cycling shoes- something my Superfeet insoles never did well. They provide arch support without taking up a lot of volume. The Performance insoles have 1.6 mm of cushioning and a recycled cork base. These were awesome in a pair of shoes I’d written off as not fitting my foot but the insoles changed my mind.
