They call this a beginner bike! Its better!
This was my first real mountain bike purchase. I have been wanting to get into mountain biking but have only bought wal-Mart bikes in the which won't cut it on the trail. So I decided to get the 1.2 drt which is still considered a beginner bike. For the quality of build and components you get a lot of bang for your beginner buck! I can easily keep up with more expensive bikes. I love this thing and can't wait to start upgrading components as I improve my MTB skills!

Disappointed
I bought this bike one day and took it to Duthie Hill only to be disappointed because I only got to ride it for maybe an hour and pushed it back from the hills because the chain snapped. Bad thing is I was on a gravel road and not doing anything tough, like a trail, this was a service road. Big disappointment for me. Maybe the bikes aren't built with quality parts, chains that is.

Getting into the sport

Bought this bike during the Memorial Day sale, I thought it was a good bang for the buck after reading reviews and talking to the staff at the Bellingham store. After riding about 25 miles on trails in the area now I can say that I am happy with my purchase and am looking forward to riding more this summer. The hardtail makes climbing easier and the fork lock out helps even more. I took the stock pedals off and threw on some race face chesters and it was a night and day difference for pedal traction. I wish these rims were tubeless compatible but maybe rims will be my next upgrade once these tires need replacing. 10/10 would recommend.

Taking a beating!

I love this bike so far! I used to ride dj and park alot but I haven't ridden in about 5 years. I have been riding this bike really hard on the trails. It's defiantly not a jump bike but it has held up to me doing a few gaps and so far a 4 foot drop. It climbs amazing, I never thought I would enjoy climbing! The bad- The fork feels a little soft to me but I am 210lbs 6-2". The frame could be stiffer! <something I thought I would never notice on a bike)

Feature-laden bike at a great price!

I bought one of these after test riding at the Brentwood, TN store (thanks, Jed!) and fell in love with the bike but had to wait until I got closer to my home store. So glad I got this bike. It's light, has high quality everything, and is very comfortable on the trails. Rides great on the road but handled everything we threw at it at York River State Park. I would have been hesitant on my old bike but quickly grew confident with this bike's excellent braking, quick shifting, and abuse-tolerant shocks. Highly recommended if you, like me, are budget conscious and want tremendous value and quality for the cost.

A Delightful Bike

I bought this bike on May 22nd. I'm new to the mountain bike, trail riding world. I've taken it out for three rides on a beginner trail near me so far. I must say, this bike offers a phenomenal ride. I lowered the tire psi to 35 and feel as if I'm floating over obstacles. This bike was my first experience with hydraulic brakes. They have saved me quite a few times from running into trees. They also let me control my speed rather easily on the downhill bits of the trail. The derailleurs and gears work great. So far I have not had any mishaps or malfunctions. The only issues I have with this bike, and this is more than likely due to it being an entry-level bike, is with the suspension fork and handlebars. The remote lockout is an amazing feature for the price point; however, the fork seems a little stiff and sluggish to me. I've played around with the pre-load knob a bit and seem to have found some middle ground, though. Of course I will get my use out of it first before I upgrade. As for the handlebars, they are just a little too thin for my preference and the angle of the stem not high enough. Though, for a beginner such as myself, this is just something I'll ride out until I can upgrade. Overall this bike is awesome and has really got me excited to learn more about mountain biking and developing my skills.

decent bike

I bought this bike nearly 2 weeks ago and I've ridden it a lot through these weeks and I ride through all terrain (on roads, regular trails, single track, steep descent) This bike isn't very good for single track or anything around that terrain. The suspension lockout works great for climbs but the suspension it self is on the low end and doesn't absorb as much as you would thing 120 mm would .When I bought this bike the first day I took it out the break pads were rubbing the disk causing friction I simply reset the calipers. after that I had no issues with the bike. But maybe next time I'll invest in something higher end according to the riding I do.

Great bang for buck

Received free product

Got this bike the other day. Ride very nicely and has some amazing features for the price. Front remote lockout is very cool and the internal cable routing and dropper post ready appeal to me. The seat is a bit firm but that's just my preference. After hearing how many of the REI workers have the CO OP bikes I knew I was missing out on some fun.

Great beginner bike

I purchased this bike without doing much research based on a friends recommendation. For a beginner bike, it is a great price for the features and abilities. This bike will make you fall in love with the sport but leave you desiring a bit more. The shifting and breaks are great. The frame is durable with in frame cabling which is very good for protecting the cable and making the bike look clean. With that said, this is a bike that will leave you wanting more. The handle bars bent pretty quickly and the suspension is on the lower end. Metal pedals are fantastic but the studs leave you slipping every now and then. All in all, this bike is a great starter bike and a good bang for the buck. Disclaimer: if you want to do any downhill mountain biking, pony up and spend more money. This is not the bike for you.

Very capable hardtail

I bought approx one month ago and am very happy I did! The bike performs well and has features comparable to that of a thousand dollar bike. Service was great as always. A very fun basic hardtail that feels good on both climbs and descents
