Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beyond expectations I wear these daily. I ride my commute to work on a bike in winter conditions and they are warm. The gription (my word) of the soles on snow and ice are amazing. I stand at my desk all day in comfort. They accommodate my orthotic inserts perfectly. I did not have to break them (or my feet) in. I put them on the first day and have not worn anything else since. And the compliments from strangers?? Tons of them. I am seriously considering buying another pair for fear that they won't be available in the future. Would I recommend to a friend? I bought a 6.5 and a 7 to compare size and wound up giving the other pair to my best friend. She loves them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots! I bought these in the caramel color at one of the local stores (color accurate to the website). I do agree with some of the other reviews, they run large. I always wear 6.5 and had to go down a 1/2 size to 6 for the perfect fit. I don't know with thicker socks but the smartwool socks fit perfectly. I wore these for my Grand Canyon day hikes and these were so comfortable. I felt like I was walking on cushion. Zero complaints! Just as an fyi, I wore them when flying so I had more packing space and have priority security through airports. I don't need to take them off going through the line with priority security. These boots do set off the metal detectors so you may want to pack them if you don't want to deal with the hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than expected As another review shows, the brown boots are darker than they are pictured online. However, I was hoping that they would be darker than pictured (as some REI products sometimes are), so I was pleased with the color. As for the fit, other reviews say they run large but maybe my feet are wider than I thought because they're comfortably snug on me! Pair them with thin SmartWool hiking socks, and your feet will be extra toasty. Awesome quality and very comfortable. Love these boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great comfortable boot. I originally bought the brown colored boot and when it arrived, I was really disappointed with the color. Too dark and somewhat plain. I exchanged it for the caramel, and wow what a difference. Like others have mentioned, they do run big. I wear and 8 and had to exchange it for a 7.5. I took them for a 3 mile hike and it was great. Because I like light comfortable shoes, I will not be using it for long hikes. I dipped my foot in the stream and they are waterproof. Now that I have worn them for several days, I have noticed they are getting more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet boots true to size Really comfortable and good looking. I got mine for town use as well as casual type hiking/woods walking about my area, and they have served very well thus far. Legitimately waterproof, warm, and don't show wear easily. I found them perfectly true to size- a wee bit snug at first, but they broke in in a matter of hours to the ideal fit. The bonus laces are great to switch up the look. I would not hesitate to buy them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful boots!!! I bought these boots a few weeks ago & recently used them in the snow & they're awesome! They're completely waterproof, tall & sturdy, and look really nice. They're true to size, even with wool socks on and insulated, my feet never got cold. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super comfortable I bought these boots to be used as a motorcycle boot which I could also use for mountain trips or light hiking/camping. They are super comfortable and feel great. I am usually right between a 7.5 and an 8 and after trying both on I went with an 8 more so for width than length, which surprised me because my foot is narrow, but it may have just been how it lined up with the shape of the shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look great and keeps your feet warm I got these in the mail a few days ago and I absolutely love them! I ordered them in black and like wearing them with the red laces. I wore them on a snow day and they kept my feet warm and dry. I'm between a size 8 and 8 1/2. I originally ordered a size 8 because the other reviews said they run a little large, but exchanged them for a 8 1/2 because I have wide feet and I wanted to wear thinker socks with them. If you're between sizes and have wide feet, I recommend going with the larger size.

How is the arch support? I have high arches and need comfortable insoles. I also need shoes I can wear everyday for long periods of time. Are these comfortable for all day wear?

Asked by: RedPanda
I purchased a pair of the Kodiak Alma boots but tried these on too before making up my mind. I only bought the Alma because I couldn't justify buying two pairs at once! The Alma is a little looser than this boot because it is a slip on, but it is the FIRST leather boot I've ever worn that was 120% comfortable for my wide feet, AND had room for arch supports (I use Superfeet) with the original footbed removed. I've been able to wear my Kodiak boots (with Superfeet) traveling from Oregon to Denver, walking around a concrete convention center floor all day, and continuing to wear the boots for the remainder of the week, with no aches whatsoever from the boots. BUY THEM!

Other Kodiac boots have a "Comfort rating". What's the temperature rating on these?  They'll be coming to Alaska.

Do these run true to size or should I order a half size up? I normally wear a 7.5.

I just bought these boots in the Caramel color but would love to get the red laces that come with the brown boot. Can you buy the laces separately?

Asked by: ARSF
Unfortunately, the exact same laces are not available for purchase. You are welcome to try generic laces instead.

I love the look of these boots, but I'm wondering if they are suitable for the snow. I live in NY so don't need a super technical boot, just something that will keep my feet dry and warm if I step in a 1/2 foot puddle of freezing slush.

Asked by: Maxy
Yes, these are great for snowy days. They are insulated and waterproof so they will keep you warm and dry even if you step in a slushy puddle.

Hi there! Will you be restocking sizes for the caramel boots?

Asked by: Trisha
Yes, we do have plans for new stock in the Caramel color, but they will not be available later July, 2017.

How would you recommend caring for them? They're brand new and already have a lot of scuff marks and some discoloration after some mud and rain. I bought them in the caramel color and love them deeply.

Asked by: atree132
We recommend cleaning your boots regularly and using a leather conditioner to keep them in the best shape.
