Rated 3 out of 5 by from not for flat feet Pros: sturdier heel than their tennis shoes. water resistant. they were significantly discounted. Cons: There's a reason these are marked down. They are not form fitting and the sizing is off a bit. Toe box is too narrow. 2E would be perfect, but they only offer 4E. Made in China. From my experience with their other Chinese manufactured NB shoes they will start wearing out within a month or two. There is no arch support. You will need an orthodic. Cushioning is in the midsole not the insole. For some crazy reason NB loves extra high heels compared to other manufacturers. Flat feet and higher heels means sorer knees or a sorer lumbar spine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not as comfortable as other NB shoes The toe box abruptly narrows and makes for uncomfortable walking. Not much of an arch support and the liner lacks cushioning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Hiking Shoes After reading comments from others, I decided to order 9 Wide. My normal size is 8.5, but size 9 was a good recommendation, as if a shoe is too short, you are in trouble, but I didn't expect "wide" to mean EEEE. Nevertheless, laces can make up for a lot on width, so these are quite a good fit. The sole is firm (some people might say stiff), but in my experience, a firm sole works better over rough terrain. For the price, this is a very nicely made shoe. In general Merrell and New Balance shoes have fit my feet the best, but everyone is different.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good walking shoe These shoes fit very well, just like all the other New Balance shoes I've purchased over the years. I really appreciate that the sizes are consistent from shoe to shoe. I have very wide feet, and New Balance shoes are about the only ones I've found that are wide enough for me.

Do the shoes work well for people with flat feet

Asked by: Reed
While the heel may be sturdier than tennis shoes the insole is flat as a board. You will need an orthodic.

I am looking for a waterproof shoe to walk outside in the rain, snow and ice. I have a back injury and can no longer run. When I purchase dress shoes made in the USA, my size is 10 D. When I purchase Adidas running shoes (imported), my size is 11 D.
