not a perfect fit but they work
they work fine. the original carbide tips were a press-fit, not threaded. I used epoxy to glue the replacements in.

Stripped Threads on Pole
A word of warning on these. I have had my Black Diamond Alpine, Carbon, Cork poles for about ten years. I have replaced my tips about everyone two years and never had a problem. I noticed these had a larger ring for inserting than the older versions, but was not concerned. However, partially because my receptor was worn down, there was a "lip" formed by the area used to screw in the tips. I was hiking on a very steep and rocky ridge and this "lip" stuck in some rocks. It pulled the tip out of the end of the pole and stripped the threads. I know I can replace the entire tip, but am choosing to replace my poles (since they have thousands of miles) . . . .but if this happened to a new set of poles, I would have been a little more upset.

Important info not included in description

I own a pair of BD Trail Sport 3 's . I was looking for ice tips to use in winter weather. The description of this pole tips fail to include that these tips do not work with 3 or more versions of hiking pole. I feel this should have been listed. I would not have ordered them. Nor would I now be in a position of having to spend as much money as they cost to send them back. A total waste of nearly $20 dollars. Can't comment on quality because I could not use them.

Bites really well

These worked great for me so far. The original plastic covered tips which came with my poles are very slippery on regular hiking terrain. However these tips bit very well, even on some rocky terrain. I must add that the Black Diamond Carbon FLZs are my first ever poles but I just did a 24 hour vertical event (ton of climb) and I was very satisfied.

Extra replacement Tips

Purchased these after having worn the original tips down so far that I had to replace the lower pole sections. Although I haven’t used them yet I have them now for next time to avoid the damage caused this go around.

LIfesaver!

So glad that these pole tips are replaceable. After over 8 years of hiking through the High Peaks in the Adirondacks, my poles were finally showing their age. With new tips and straps, they are like new again.

Great grip and wear

O.E. For my BD Alpine cork carbon poles. Easy to replace and lock in place and do not come loose. Concave design grips great on rocks and even with wear work well. Great product and design

New tips

Even though my poles come with these, experience has taught me to be prepared for the unexpected. The right price for spare parts, just in case.
