Great Outer Layer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this for Nordic skiing. It’s a perfect shell that offers insulation and breathability! It’s got a bit of stretch to it and is comfortable around the face and hands.

Unbelievable

This jacket is amazing! It’s what I have expected form Arc’teryx, comfort, performance, durability, beautiful lines and finish! I got the light blue and now considering getting the pink color as well. That’s how amazing this jacket is! I am 5’4” and 130 lbs and size S is perfect!

I've bought it FOUR times

I bought my first Gamma MX in 2002 and fell in love with it. Wore it all the time, until it got stolen, so then had to replace it. I wore my second one daily until I literally wore it thread-bare and had to eventually garbage it. A year or so later I spotted one on sale, so I picked it up and wore it so much that I decided it was justified to buy another one so I could switch up colors. I wear it year round for EVERY sport. I run in it, snowboard, snowshoe, cross-country ski, climb, hike, and take it on the boat in the summer. It's so comfortable, it breathes, offers some water repellent protection, it stretches, and I LOOOOOVE the hood. There is no way to improve this jacket. Buy it. You'll enjoy it so much.

I bought this jacket recently and cannot take it off! The fit is so flattering and the color is awesome. Windproofing has been perfect for this in-between season. So many compliments!

great jacket for drizzle

Overall I really like this jacket. The Hard Coral is a beautiful orangey-red. I love the fleece lining...very cozy and not too warm. It is a great jacket for light drizzle, but likely wouldn't wear it for long in a deluge. The fit is small and I found the Medium (I am 5'9") didn't leave a lot of room for additional layers such as fleece (although I can squeeze one under). I was swimming in the large. I kept the medium and I am happy with it so far. Would have liked a bit more room in the fit through the shoulders and an inch or two in the length.

Awesome climbing/ backcountry skiing jacket

I bought this jacket to replace my old climbing windbreaker 3 years ago and I am happy with my purchase since then. This jacket is wind- resistant and gives me some extra warmth at multi-pitch belay stations as it is lightly insulated. The fabric is amazingly resistant to climbing-related abrasion and damage. I also like to wear it durong my skiing backcountry trips on warmer days. This jacket also behaved well in light snow situations and I did not get wet. It is not one of those packable jackets one can compress to a size of a sock; this is a piece I try to wear throughout the whole activity. The hood fits both my climbing and climbing helmets. In general there is nothing special about the design or fit but it looks good and it is a true workhorse!

Multiple uses

I bought the Women's Gamma MX Hoody in Cobalt Moon as a birthday present for myself at the beginning of the year. Perfect gift! I've used it for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, cycling and plan to use it for mountain biking in cooler temps. Seems durable, extremely breathable, is super comfortable and keeps you warm on colder days with a thermal layer or fleece underneath. Sheds some light rain and snow, but I throw on a waterproof over the top if raining or snowing heavily. Sleeves are nice and long for biking etc.

Great material

I've been wearing the Gamma line of pants for almost a year now, from the summer weight LT to the medium weight AR to the winter weight MX. Each performs well and fits me perfectly. They are cut to move and are durable and warm when warranted. I decided to add a Gamma MX Hoody to the mix, since the winter-weight MX pants worked so well for me. I haven't had a chance to test the jacket yet, as it's still warm here, but I'm excited to have it ready to go. I purchased an Atom LT Hoody at the same time, thinking I could layer the two when it gets super cold outside and I wasn't super active, and they do layer well. Not a ton of extra room when I have both on, but comfortable enough to move. I love having the options and also think the Gamma MX will work well on its own.

Cozy, Fits Perfectly!

The Gamma MX Hoodie is perfectly tailored, flattering style and length. I'm about 5'5" tall and usually wear a size 12 top. A size large fits with room for a light top or sweater underneath. Arc'teryx clothing is fairly expensive, but worth the price. They're well made and last for years.

Love This Jacket

I just got my Gamma MX so have only worn it a couple of times and not in wet weather yet. I love the fit and the lightweight. I layer it with my Atom LT right now bcs its cold in the Rockies. I find it plenty warm enough with the Atom LT under it and the temps right now are around -10 to -15. I am looking forward to seeing how it is in the Spring when we get rain. We don't get heavy rain in SEast BC so this should be perfect.
