Very warm and have a great grip
I got these gloves because I will be working at a ski resort this winter and needed a good pair of durable and warm gloves with a good grip. These have so far fulfilled that wish. They are very warm and on a recent backpacking trip stood up very well in 28 degree weather. While they did get wet and soak through, they still kept my hands very warm. The grip on the gloves is pretty solid and is one of my favorite features. The touch screen fingers work just about as well as you would expect it to, it works, but is a little clumsy. My only complaint about the gloves is that I wish the seams on the inside of the gloves were hidden a little better because it is slightly uncomfortable and makes the gloves feel a little more bulky than I would generally prefer. Overall, I really like the gloves and think they will do a great job keeping me warm over this winter and many more winters to come.
Great gloves
My gloves were purchased February 21, 2018. I was looking for casual glove and they are great for this. Snug (not too tight) at the wrist but loose in the finger which I like. I used them yesterday teaching a ski lesson and the temps were spring conditions and the gloves were just right. Plus the palms have grip material so I feel confident the ski edges will not cut through the gloves when carrying them or my students skis. I did not test out the sensor tips on the fingers outside but using them now to type this on my iPad in my house. No problems. I got them in size medium but wear size large for my OR alt heat gloves for skiing in cold weather.
Warm, dextrous, versatile
These are definitely windproof, warm but not too bulky. The touch compatibility works well. I like the palm too, grippy all the way on to the palm and some fingers, not those grippy strips that gloves seem yo have these days that fall off. Only gripe: the interior stitching that crosses the palm is a little thick, which can be uncomfortable when biking after prolonged pressure on the handlebar. I bought these for bike commuting, so it's a bit of a bummer, but the pros outweigh the cons.
Seam Failure
I got these to replace my 5+ year old OR windbloc gloves. After wearing them twice (casually, not backcountry), the main seam came apart on the wrist. I'll return them and hope that this is an isolated incidence. My older ones are still viable (a little threadbare), but I wanted a cleaner pair.
General Purpose Use, Definitely Not Waterproof
tl;dr Do not use these in the rain or snow. They will keep your hands warm enough in cold, but will fail in the wet. I bought these gloves thinking that they would be good for snowboarding. The first time I used them, they were decent; my hands were still fairly cold though to be fair I did take them on and off relatively frequently. The second time it was rain/snowing on the slopes and these things got completely soaked through. They not only failed to keep my hands warm, they allowed water and snow in to the extent that my hands were blue from cold. Water poured out at the end of the day when I squeezed it out.
The Best all around glove there is
I recently purchased my third pair of the OR Gripper gloves. My first pair I wore for years until they were just too worn out to wear anymore. I purchased a new pair which I had for a few seasons until sadly I lost them. I just love these gloves because they are so versatile. The grippy palm and fingers is a must for many activities that I do, and the Windstopper membrane protects my hands in extreme conditions without bulk. They are light and packable, and the large fits my hands perfectly with just the right amount of room for a merino liner if conditions call for it. These have been my "go to" glove for years.
Poorly Made
I purchased these recently, looking for a warm glove for twenty degree temperatures during a recent visit to Asheville, and for an upcoming trip to Alaska. Unfortunately, they didn’t even last for one day (of little to no activity) before I noticed that one of the gloves had come apart at the seam in the palm. I can’t imagine what they would be like for a vigorous outdoor activity. Very disappointing, and not inexpensive. Buyer beware.
Surprising warmth
This pair of gloves exceeded my expectations for warmth. Standing outside for a few ours of foggy 40F misery? No problem- and you can still use your phone. Trail running at 30F with windchill around 10F? My hands stayed warm. I felt only the slightest chill around my bent knuckles simply from temp. transfer since the gloves are thin and it was very windy. That said, these puppies are seriously windproof. The coldest I've experienced with this pair is 12F and single digit windchill. My hands were warm. It's awesome. Another plus is the grip. I tried countless pairs in store and none had better grip. I first bought a Large because I don't like wiggle room. Phone use was simple. The wrist cuff was too narrow, though, and a seam split. I'm now in XL and while the fingers are a tad too long, I can still use my phone with a bit of deliberation.
Warm, but bad lining
I bought these and had to immediately return them. They are warm; however once you put them on the lining seam rubs against your palm. It is extremely uncomfortable and I couldn't imagine wearing them for more than a few minutes.
Functional but uncomfortable
The gloves are light and wind proof. However the seams are extremely rough on the inside and the fit makes it difficult to bend my fingers.
