I switched from SPD clipless to flats when I was having difficulty getting out of my pedals on my E-MTB. These provide a large platform and the pins make me feel secure on the bike but I can come off or put a foot down or out easily. The advantage climbing I once had with clipless is not as important on an e-bike and the freedom gained refreshing. The only downside is the pins tend to scratch my shins and calf’s if I do not wear some high socks or shin pads.
