Not broken after all!

I use this torch for hiking and running and it performs flawlessly for hours. Finally, it didn't turn on so I charged it up. Then I couldn't get it to turn on AT ALL. The red light and the beeper on the back switch would still work but the main light switch didn't work. I was really bummed because I like the plastic grip (not cold on hands) the downward angle, the light weight, and especially the comfortable hand harness. So I ordered another one hoping I'd get a good one (I like it that much). I was holding the torch and squeezing the main switch hard for about ten seconds while I was explaining my frustration with it to my husband and voila! the light went on. So maybe after charging, you need to hold the switch for an extra long time when you turn it on the first time. Hope it works again next time. Either way, I'll have a back up.

Charging Issue

The handheld flashlight with the option of flashing red light and sound in the back of is a great concept for nighttime walking/vision. It provides good illumination however, there is an issue when it comes to recharging the batteries. It uses a USB port and is suppose to have an indicator (green for fully charge and red for charging/low charge) but the indicator does not work. This is my second attempt to get a working flashlight but both have the same issue.

Works as advertised.

I use this in addition to a headlight. It helps both with seeing trails/roads in the dark and also increases my visibility to cars/others. I've used it in single digit temps through mid-80s and has always worked well for me.

Unusable. Wouldn't charge.

Despite its generally poor reviews, I bought this light anyway because I liked its design and features and hoped I'd have better luck. Wrong. After three days of being plugged in, the red charging light hasn't gone off and the device doesn't work. So I'll be waiting in line at the P.O., eating the return shipping costs, and looking for a better hand torch solution.

I should’ve listened to the other reviewers...

I love the concept of the light but no matter how much I charge it, it will not work. I will be returning it.

Just like you'd expect

This flashlight is great for illuminating the path in front of you and, using the red light on the back, for keeping you visible to others. I love it.

Great light; makes buzzing noise though

This is my second one of these flashlights. The first one I lost along a trail near Rainier. This one seems like a lemon. It turns on and off by itself occasionally and a new symptom that it seems to pick up is making a buzzing noise, after my most recent trip; water might have been a factor, since I was brushing up against wet branches, but I would have expected more from a water resistant flashlight. Now I have a flashlight that emits a buzzing noise and emulates a rave/strobe light until I smack it -_-. As far as I can tell these flashlights aren't serviceable.

Perfect for Walking at Night

While I was visiting a friend, she gave me this flashlight to hold while we were walking her dog at night. I was wearing mittens, and it fit perfectly over my hand. I'm not a huge fan of holding things in my hand (I know, it's weird), so this was an IDEAL flashlight for me. I bought two when I got home.

Died after less than 5 uses

After less than 5 uses (no more than 60 minutes per use), this light started to malfunction. The power button sometimes wouldn't work, the mode would randomly change, and abnormalities occurred. I never submerged it in water or even had it out in the rain, just normal use as a handheld light for running. I used it a few more times until it completely died. It wouldn't even charge up. I contacted Nathan customer service but received no response. I would not recommend this product.
