[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pictured next to standard Daylite in Concrete Tan. Overall the upgraded fabric is really nice. Especially at the bottom of the bag, feels extremely rugged. The bottle pouches aren't mesh, more of a stretchy woven material. Less likely to snag or get holes. Fits canteens great. The G Hooks for the compression straps are alright. Aluminum, not plastic. But they seem oversized for the webbing they attach to. The zipper pull bits and the hooks are very reflective, would've preferred non reflective on this bag like the standard daylite. The shoulder straps have the same fabric next to the shoulder but on the top is mesh instead, with perforated foam for breathability. Color is much richer than true coyote brown but fairly close.
This is exactly what I wanted. I had been planning on getting a commuter/day hike bag for a while and this popped up around the time I was considering getting one. I use this pack everyday for work and I have taken it out for a 10 mile day hike. The pack holds up well with good weight distribution and solid space and pockets for stashing items. The bag drys up pretty well with its water resistant properties. The bag doesn’t have a waist belt but I’m honestly ok with that as the shoulder straps are comfortable enough that carrying 20+ pounds doesn’t feel overbearing. I find the pack to be incredibly comfortable. I’m very satisfied with this pack and my decision to buy it.
I love Osprey bags and own many for different uses. I bought the Daylite Plus LTD as a carry-on/daypack for a week long holiday and it is a great bag. I love the tougher materials used to make this bag and it really does feel like it will withstand a lot of wear. My only issues with the bag are the G hooks used on the compression straps and the taped zips. The G hooks come undone really easily. I’m not sure why Osprey didn’t just use the buckles from the regular Daylite Plus. The taped zips, whilst protecting from water, add resistance to the zips making them harder to zip smoothly. They are only little things and I still really like this bag and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a durable daypack.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really happy with this backpack. It's very light. Has lots of pockets to stash stuff, plus a key clip & comfortably holds 2 500 mltr water bottles. Will also take a hydration pack. Well padded back support with good carry straps. Very comfortable to wear. Looks & feels very well made. I like it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems well built and the water resistance should be good. I haven't had it out in the rain yet nor tested it by pouring water on it. The only drawback I see is the compression straps. The regular Daylite Plus uses plastic clips and this uses metal hooks. The hooks have come unhooked several times and the zippers have gotten hung up in the hooks several times. Because of this and a lack of loops anywhere else on it there is nowhere to clip a carabiner to hang something off the back of the pack.
The only bag I could find that met my requirements of looking good, whilst being functional, comfortable, strong, secure, water resistant/proof, lightweight, and having bottle holders and a grab handle. Worked great for me on its first proper outing of a rainy weekend away.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Daylite Plus is my new favorite everyday pack. It’s water resistant so I don’t have to worry about my electronics and has a ton of storage for everything I take with me. This is super comfortable to wear and is incredibly versatile! The quality seems second to none!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Is this bag worth 2x the cost of the classic Daylite Plus? I ordered both to compare, and ended up returning both. The LTD version has only 3 differences that I could tell: 1) waterproof? (zippers and fabric); 2) aluminum buckle for compression straps; and 3) silk screen logo instead of embroidered. The aluminum buckle seemed much worse than the plastic snap buckle. The logo doesn't look as nice, but is probably necessary to keep the bag waterproof. The killer feature would be a waterproof bag. However, I couldn't find anywhere that Osprey says the bag is waterproof, and I didn't test it since the Daylite plus layout wasn't for us. Deal killers: lack of organization (zippered inner pockets), not too useful front zippered pocket, and especially that the bag can't really be used without the compression straps being buckled - and the straps go across the main zipper. If you love the layout of the Daylite plus, and if the bag ends up being waterproof, and you can put up with the annoying aluminum buckles, and you don't mind paying twice as much as the regular Daylite Plus, then this bag might be for you.
I am all for recycling but the quality does not feel like older Osprey rucksacks I have, plus the shoulder straps are not comfortable at all. For the money a bit disappointing.
Material on the front pocket not versatile at all. Put a pair of gloves in the front and it caused the outside to become scratchy and fray. This was just walking through town.
