[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can’t wait for the weekend to come so me and my family to go on our camping trip upstate I love love coffee and to be able to have a QuickPot Coffee Maker while out doors is the greatest idea ever and I can’t wait
mmmmmm coffee
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product made the whole camping trip it was great we made morning coffee the tea and it even lets you heat water for cooking food love it i would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants a good product that works
Never be without coffee
Great for camping coffee. Just hook up a little bottle of propane and you are set to brew. It’s about the same as having coffee at home. I’m really happy to have gotten this as I cannot live without my coffee.
No major complaints
My wife bought this for me for a Christmas gift and I have used it for two camping seasons. I have no major complaints but the ignitor did quit working, which isnt a big deal because I never trust them anyways and just use an "aim-a-flame". The one thing my wife also purchased was a steel coffee pot. I think Coleman shouldnt even have a glass one because that is asking for complete disaster. It does take a little longer to brew but the way I look at it is, when I go camping I go to slow down and relax if that means just a few extra minutes, no problem. The taste of the coffee is good and it is faster then the old school camp fire perkulator.
Dissapointing
We were very excited to use this coffee pot while camping as an alternative to a french press system. Sadly, out of a 5 day camping trip we managed only to get one good (decent) cup of coffee out of the kit. The water flowed down the sides or out of the top instead of dripping through the filter and into the pot. At first we thought it was because the kit was not level and so we spent a great deal of time making sure the pot was on a level surface. This did not make a difference. We placed a tray under the kit and at the end of one of the brewing processes for 8 cups there was more coffee in the tray (about half a cup) than in the pot. Very sad.
Very Poor Quality
Very poor quality and horrible design. Firstly, the unit gets extremely hot, seem unnecessary. The drip stop mechanism is flimsy and often falls off. In addition, the carafe does not fit securely when brewing and can disengage from the drip stop mechanism, causing the coffee maker to overflow, creating a huge mess. Lastly, the basket also fits poorly and is flimsy in design. The carafe lid latch broke upon first use, small tab that secures to handle. Overall, a huge disappointment. I was looking forward to the standalone design, but this product does not live up to the Coleman quality standards I came to expect. This product should be recalled or discontinued.
Too long making a pot of coffee.
Got this from a friend because it took too long to brew coffee. I used regular grind coffee and it brewed 10 cups in 15 min. I used the expresso coffee he bought and it took 18 min. to brew only 8 cups. It soaked up 2 cups of water. The finer the grind of coffee the longer it takes to brew a pot and more water will need to be replaced for that which is soaked up. Electric drip coffee makers take between 6-12 min a pot with regular grind coffee The coffee I made was great and the time remains around 15 min.a 10 cup pot.
Once you get it, can't live without it.
This is a replacement for a 4-5 year old unit. Been used heavily on Scouting outings. 2 repairs on the stop-and-pour mechanism (don't really need it anyway), 1 broken canister, and the ignitor is flaking out (works about 25% of the time now). Figure it is one more breakage away from totally giving up the ghost. So why get a replacement? Just ask half a dozen Scout leaders who won't function without a couple cups of joe in the morning. Ranks in the necessity scale with pots and stoves. Biggest complaint: Why didn't Coleman design the reservoir to the same capacity as the canister? One of camping's great mysteries.
Great for camping and work
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine is a life saver while out camping with the family. Camped for the weekend and this made it so easy to survive. It’s easy to assemble. Hooks up to those green propane bottles and makes a whole pot in 18 minutes It even pauses to serve, if you don’t want to wait. Simple to operate and even easier to clean. I also use this in the field ( I’m always working out in the field) and it never gives me any problems. Worth it to own one for me.
Recommend
I first came across this coffee maker while camping with friends, and it was an instant must-have. It runs on the small green propane canisters, brewing a pot of coffee in no time. The built-in igniter is super convenient, so there's no need for extra tools to get it going. The only downside is that it's a bit bulky and can be tricky to pack. A hard case would be ideal for easier storage and to prevent any damage on the road.
