[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great bag, I travel a lot for work and having a durable and reliable bag is invaluable. I made the mistake before of buying cheap luggage only to have it destroyed on the first leg of a trip. Osprey packs are always worth it, they are built extremely well and they are backed by a very good warranty, I’ve had several repairs already done by osprey and I am extremely satisfied. As for this bag in particular, I LOVE the separate shoe compartment at the bottom, I can easily pack away a pair of boots and another pair of shoes and keep them separate from my uniforms and other clothes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The only regret I have is not buying this amazing bag sooner. Pair with packing cubes and you can bring everything you need to take an extended trip in an organized way. This 100 L bag went to Europe for 1 month with no issues checking as luggage with AA. No extra luggage fees charges but I also made sure not to overstuff it. It was full but not bulging. Is the perfect check-in luggage size for international travel but also for local travel since it is super easy to access the inside content, if needed, unlike clamshell-style suitcases.
Feels like a good bag, with improvements to previous shuttle 100, like the third internal strap. Two things are worse than previous version of bag. Please consider for next iteration of bag: - main zipper is not cover and protected agains rain and dirt, i. e. on top near main handle - the flaps over bag are too big. They work well when the bag is full. However, when bag is not full, they overlap that the straps/buckles cannot be closed on top, but practically only at side. That does not work well when bag is packed uneven.
I did a lot of research before buying this bag and it's almost perfect. It's light so you can use more of the airline weight limit for the stuff inside your bag instead of the bag itself. It's got two nice big wheels and good ground clearance so it's easy to take from the airport to cobblestone streets. It has plenty of volume but also compresses down easily which is perfect for when it's not full. My only issue is the handle isn't quite long enough to pull comfortably. I'm not very tall but I find myself kicking the back of the bag as I walk occasionally. The handle is 40.5 inches from the ground compared to the 43 inch handle on my carry-on which feels perfect. It looks like there is plenty of room for a longer handle so that's my only recommendation for the next version.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Loving this bag. We own a 65L Osprey duffel that is similar and this one performs just as well. The bag is very light overall, but sturdy. The wheels and handle all seem robust and encounter no issues navigating the airport. I also appreciate the additional protection from the wing pads as they provide additional padding to the contents of my bag. Would highly recommend. Price is a little steep, but it's definitely a good investment.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I travel a few times a month for work and needed a bag that kept all my field gear organized. This bag is amazing! I love all the pockets and organizational features. The wheels are large giving it a smooth roll. The luggage tag is very cool and I wish all my bags had it. I have owned 5 Osprey backpacks and am thrilled that their luggage is as durable and useful as their backpacks. Will be recommending to all my friends/coworkers!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything about this is Top Tier! I’ve packed mine full full and it just flat out works! Haven’t been off-road but on a concrete jungle, it’s smooth rolling. The only thing I’d have to critique, is that when it’s full like mine at the moment, it’s a little challenging to grab and go. It has a tendency to fall over but it could be that I packed it like “Fat guy in a little Coat” other than that, it’s Primo!
Bought for a roadtrip to Australia so needed to pack for a variety of activities but where space is limited. This bag was deceptively spacious and light to pull. Survived luggage belts and manhandling on escalators. Well designed with compartments to separate items. Quite spenny but worth it overall - partner copied me and bought 130L as so impressed.
There is no doubt this is a big bag. You will have no issues with regard to lack of space, you may however have insufficient weigh allowance if you are travelling by air! Lots of internal and external pockets allow one to pack systematically. I would however highly recommend the use of packing cubes to ease location of the items you may be looking for. Like I said, this is a very big bag. Construction and materials used look like they are built for longevity, time will tell on this, the two protective sidewalls really do help to compress the bag and protect the contents when not fully loaded. Initially I was looking for a 'split-roller' type bag like another well known brand but concerns about reduced quality in recent production by the other brand led me back . . . . again . . . . to Osprey. So far it's looking like a good decision. PS Osprey, if you do produce a large (120 - 130 l) split-roller you've already got a customer waiting right here.
I've been a carry on only person for over 25 years but was going to Italy to do a serious week of cycling the highest roads in the Alps followed by time in Como, Milano and Firenze. Needed to bring a ton of cycling clothing and gear for all kinds of weather, dress up and casual wear for the cities. Aside from the bike, I was exclusively traveling by train or ferry. This bag did the job of getting through a ton of cobbled streets and kept my stuff well organized. The big wheels were the key selling point. My only hesitation for a bag like this are two issues, neither of which are deal breakers: the handle doesn't extend far enough to allow an Osprey back pack to be threaded through on top; secondly, it's almost too easy to overpack. Not a problem for baggage check, but on Trenitalia luggage racks it was occasionally a difficult fit. The good news is that the tension straps enable a minimalist checked bag approach that can cinch down very neatly. I'll be taking it back in May for more of the same.
