Bought these because i have been finding that my 2 favorite brands - On and Hoka - are not what i was looking for on a recent 8 day trip to Italy. Ons just seem to be too stiff, and Hokas, besides being too big to pack, are just too “clownish” for travel. We knew we were going to walk a ton- like 10-15 miles a day- so i wanted something superlight, smaller in dimension to fit in carry on bags and have a bit of “Euro Flair” to them so as not to look so American😁 They run probably a half size larger than my Hokas or Ons so my usual 10 was a bit big, but with all the walking,it allowed for some foot swelling. Wore them around home for a week to get used to them and so i never worried about blisters- also wore a good pair of lightweigh wool running socks so sweat would dry quicker. They went great with my jeans, my mens jogger style sweats (blue and black camo) and even my Vuori camo Sunday shorts. Bonus- one day in Venice they were soaked from a combination of heavy rains and poor google maps directions to our hotel, but a quick wipe down with some soap and water at the hotel and 5 minutes of hair dryer treatment and they were good to go! I’ll probably buy another pair while on sale so i can keep them for another future trip down the road. Meanwhile, this current pair will find plenty of use this summer here in Seattle.
I have a pair of Topo Phantom 4's size 10 (my normal size). There were at least a half size bigger (I returned them and got 9.5's which fit like the Phantom's 10). Toe box in these is roomy, marginally bigger than the Phantom's). Comfy fit with relief for my plantar fasciitis.
Not for me, lacks the support I need to feel comfortable.
