[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great "dual use" backpack for business and play. Very spacious with lots of features and different sized compartments for random stuff. Very comfortable to wear. My only complaint is the little quick-release buckles that secure the mesh front pocket to the top of the back. I just leave them unbuckled (and store nothing in the mesh pocket) because otherwise I would have to unfasten them every time I want to access any of the other compartments. Even with them unbuckled, the two female buckles at the top of the pack interfere with the zipper action for the laptop compartment. It would be good to move these away from the zipper or provide some way to stow them.
This feels less spacious than my old 28L quasar due to the separate laptop pouch. I would prefer if the laptop pouch was integrated into the main compartment so that when the laptop bit is not in use you can get more kit into the bag. But, due to the separate compartment, you lose out on space in the main compartment. Only had a few weeks but time will tell if this proves to be an issue as i have used my old quasar to carry shoes, food, helmet and harness in the past before but i don’t think i’ll be able to get that same kit into this 32l (bigger than old 28l quasar) nebula rucksack
Purchased a lovely teal/dark blue Nebula 5 and been happy with it ever since. It's super spacious and works great for taking all my work equipment with, groceries when I cycle to the shops or anything else I need. Doesn't look massive, but offers plenty of room. Very comfortable to wear too.
We used it as a day pack as a family with two kids on our holiday. comfortable on the shoulders, the laptop section has good padding that helps the back. We used the second from main section for kids snacks and drinks. When full, the sections immediate next tend to warp and lose shape around the countries created by all the shapes in the snack bag. . the side pockets are handy for bottles up to 500ml. Anything larger kept falling out. Think it’s because of the slanting side pockets the di idi g material between the sections is really thin and was nervous these could easily tear If the bag is filled to capacity. Is my first Osprey…have had a Wenger before this and that did and still does a far better job.
The Nebula has one bad flaw and one awful flaw. Amazingly these flaws interact with each other to create a fatal flaw. The bad flaw is that, unlike every other major compartment on any other day pack in the universe (including the other compartments on the nebula itself), the outer compartment has only one zipper pull. This means that you have to completely unzip it to open the compartment, and completely zip it to close it. You can't position both pulls at the top of the compartment and unzip it partially. This is one of the dumbest flaws imaginable insofar as it will be unspeakably easy to correct. It's a great backpack and other respects. But that's like saying you've a great car that has square wheels.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this pack for bike commuting and so far it serves it's purpose well. The pack has 3 main compartments and stores things really well. There is plenty of room and it has just enough extra pockets without going overboard with it. If there were one criticism I have, it would be the fit with the laptop sleeve being against your back makes the pack have a single contact point. The good is that you get more ventilation on your back, but it also feels a bit unstable. I think it would make an excellent travel/commuter pack. I may be asking a bit much for the bike commute part.
Somehow this pack has more volume than my previous Swissgear backpack but it is half the weight. The chest strap being adjustable along built in rails on the shoulder strap is a killer feature. Even when packed to the brim, the profile is slim with the side straps pulling in the outer section so the weight isn’t pulling you in the wrong direction. It is very comfortable for an all day trek or commute. The only things I’d change are a little wider opening ability for the large main pocket and the canteen straps are too low, though I haven’t had any canteens spill out since the stretch pocket is great. Special shout out to the stuff sack in the front where I can store my packable down jacket without taking up space inside.
I had a Talon bag for over 15years, and was using it while in the military, it was the best backpack in my life so far. I had to have it replaced and Osprey said this was the closest to it. I have had the bag now for several months and it is NO Where near as good, can’t fit things inside the backpack it has more pockets outside than space inside. This bag is terrible for people that need a little space for things inside. It might be good for little knickknacks and small items but is the worst to really try to carry things that you need for a truly, full day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The style and functionality of the bag is great and I wanted it to work out so bad. The location of the upper clips became a nuisance and I couldn’t hide them like other Nebula I have owned for 5 years. I even thought of cutting them off, but they are incorporated into the bag and assist with attaching the outer pocket to the rest of the backpack . Every time I would need to access the bag the clips were in the way. I had to return the bag and looking for another one. Love your product and will continue to purchase them, this bag just didn’t work for me.
Bought this pack for a trip to Europe. I loved it! Spacious and comfortable. I stood in an airport for 90 minutes with this pack on my back for most of it and it was comfortable. I wore it while walking the hilly streets of Lausanne Switzerland and never found it uncomfortable. Everywhere I went, traveling by bus, train and plane with this on my back, it did everything I hoped for and was comfortable. The one thing I wish it had is a loop deep in the bottom of one of the pockets to attach an AirTag. I solved the problem for myself by looping a very slender steel cable through the bottom of the laptop sleeve and connecting the ends of the cable with an AirTag holder. This way the AirTag can't fall out or be removed (without tools).
