Disappointed
I'm a big fan of the Free Metcons, so I was excited for this release. But I'm honestly let down. This is just my opinion, of course, but after wearing it for several workouts, for me the shoe is stiff, bulky, and doesn't feel or act like a Free Metcon. The 7's seem vastly less flexible and versatile as the Free Metcon 6's. Nike went away from the bootie construction and the tongue on the 7's is bulky and becomes uncomfortable if it shifts during a workout. Nike also added bands that extend from the laces to the soles and when doing lunges, or other moves that require a bent, flexible foot, these bands will pinch the foot. Sorry, Nike, this one's a miss for me.
Nice Upgrade
As comfortable as the 6s with a new modern look. Love them for gym and going outside.
I’ve been using the Metcon 6 for a while, and the Metcon 7 is definitely a noticeable upgrade. The fit feels more snug and secure, and overall it’s more comfortable without losing stability for lifting. It still performs great during weight training, but now has a bit more flexibility and cushioning, which makes it better for mixed workouts and moving around the gym. The design is also cleaner and more modern the 6 was solid, but the 7 feels more refined all around and is definitely worth it.
Great Job Nike!
I’m new to the Metcon family. I started with the Metcon 6. Love Love them. The Metcon 7 hasn’t disappointed. They fit my size 13 better than the 6’s. I like the higher back of the shoe. Great response on my hinging, squatting and plyo. Hadn’t run in them yet. So far so good! Good Job Nike!
Engineering Needs Work - Heel tab goes too high
Love that you brought back the sturdiness of the Metcon 5's and prior. SADLY, the heel tab and collar come up SO HIGH in the back of this shoe that during my high intensity/major range of movement based workout, my achilles tendons blistered and are torn up. I was so excited for these but I will likely be returning them. Bring back the 5s and before. You had the shoe perfected.
IMPROVED COMFORT, But Size Up!
I fell in love with the Free Metcon line when the 5 released. I didn’t think anything would beat the 6s, but I really LOVE the increased heel cushioning on these. They ARE narrower and snug in the toe box so I returned the first pair and re-ordered a half size up and they are PERFECT now. Super happy with the purchase and would highly recommend these.
Good, but could be better.
Big fan of the Metcon series for the gym. I have the Metcon 4, 5, 6, & now 7. The 7’s are okay. Slightly better than the 6. More room in the toe area and feel well rounded. However, I am not a fan of how bulky they seem/feel. Almost feels like I am wearing a pair of Jordans. The Metcon 5’s were the all time best.
No only reason why I keep ordering is because you guys carried the Just foot size for men and women. This is not a bash, but I really don’t like these shoes just like the last one so I’m gonna just stop ordering at this point.
Spot on
They look mint. Had the 5s and 6s. 6s didn't last 6 months while doing sledge pushes. Still got 5s and they're holding up well. Definitely prefer the look of these.
Comfortable fit, new favorite!
Purchased for my husband. He has a wide foot and loves the fit of these shoes. Was working out in another brand but this is his new preferred training shoe.
