I've worn these on a few backpacking and mountaineering trips, and have really liked them. They are very soft, eliminate funk, and regulate temperature very well. My only complaint is that they tend to bunch up, and I have to periodically stop and pull them back down to get comfortable again. Otherwise, they're great for high-activity, multi-day trips.
I have larger thighs - cycling, I was hoping these could be used for daily use and some hiking, but they are very uncomfortable as the legs ride up and bunch up in the inner thighs. I cannot think of any situation where I will get any use out of these. Nice comfortable fabric, but a design that will not work.
The icebreaker underwear, especially the boxers, are very soft and comfortable. They are ideal for travel since they can be hand washed in the sink and dry very quickly (quicker than cotton and equally quick as synthetic). There is also the benefit of all wool in that it is oder resistant
I tried two pair of 150 weight underwear for icebreaker and was instantly convinced. I got a few pair of these as well and wear a pair most days. Super light and cool, and very comfortable. Great for all around wear and use out on the trail
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The material makes all the difference. The fine-knit wool keeps the odour(s) away for days on end if need be. This is especially useful while traveling. Price point is high, so buy on sale if possible.
Loose fit, they ride and bunch. Soft feel but need to be tighter so they don't slip around everywhere. I can only wear them around the house along or with gym shorts otherwise they drive me crazy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product for under layers to AT trail through hike. Initial fit is true to sizing shaft which has not been the case with other merino wool merchants.
I've only had these for a couple of months and I'm already starting to wear a hole in the inner thigh. They also bunch up. Maybe not for thicker legs.
This is one of the best pairs of underwear I have ever worn. Soft, comfortable and odour free. The sizing is perfect too.
Are they comfy? Yes Do they fit nice? Yes Do they hold bad odors? No How do they look? Great What more do you want?
