Summer activity top
I love wearing long sleeves for most activities. This top has been my go to for hiking, running and biking all Summer. It keeps me protected from the sun, there is no rubbing if I am wearing a pack or vest and its breathable so I don't feel like the sleeves are overkill on the hot days. The new style is more fitted so I went with a large ( black and white) and then tried an xlarge in orange to see if I like the bagger fit. Although it was a looser fit the xl had a lot longer arms.
Lovely, soft and light
Next to your skin, this shirt is soft and non-chafing. I use it under warmer base layers to protect my skin from itchy fabrics. I love it under winter sweaters. I read that some people found that it fits small, so I ordered a large. I'm about 5'9" and roughly 145 lb. It fits loose, which is what I wanted. If I wanted it to fit closer to my skin I assume a medium would have been a better choice. I love the thumb holes too. I order the hood version for sun protection and am excited for it because I think it will do a good job of skin protection but not be too heavy and warm.
Taema LS
I purchased both the LS and SS to compare, since the fits are different. I compared the XS. The shoulders are generally the same but from the underarms to the waist, the seams were more “nipped” in. The bottom hem on both had the same circumference. I didn’t feel like I needed to size up, but if you are more straight waisted or not narrower than your chest here, it will feel probably feel too constructed. It isn’t stretchy but it has a little give. I did wear the LS in 90 degree weather and I felt very comfortable. Atmos Heather is definitely more sheer than the other colors, and the texture gives it a little more sheer appearance. The Alpine Rose Heather was very similar in appearance to Desert Rose Heather (from 2022). My stats are 26” waist, 35” hips, 5’, 115 lbs. I usually buy XS in Arc’teryx tops. Always great quality. I reviewed the SS separately…the fit was definitely looser on that. Beware of the brighter colors, my SS from 2022 bled through my hoody after a long day of hiking. It washed out, but seemed really strange to have that happen. I will try to attach a photo with the Ss and LS on top of each other to be able to see the difference in cut.
Great Summer Sun Protection
[Employee of arcteryx] I bought this shirt in a size large (I typically wear a medium) based on reviews that it fits tight, and the large is great and not clingy. I wear this shirt to protect my skin from the sun and bought it in the white colour. I would buy the purple colour but it's always out of stock - more light colours please! It's my go to for a lightweight breathable layer when I'm outside in the sun.
Missing the former style
I adore the former Taema style t-shirts so much that I own 5 different colours. I was excited to see this long sleeve style so I ordered right away. Sadly the sizing is significantly smaller than the previous model. It’s going back as it feels at least two sizes too small. For reference a wore a medium comfortably in the old style. I could barely get the new style’s “medium” over my shoulders.
Less stretchy fabric, smaller size
I have a long sleeve shirt from a previous season, it is lightweight, stretchy and comfortable. This new version is only lightweight. It’s has no give nor is it comfortable even though I bought the same size as previously. It was so tight across my chest - I had to send it back. Buy a size up if you have any chest at all.
3 months of use
At the beginning, I did not like how this shirt fit on me, but after 3 months of quite heavy use, the shirt felt a bit losend and fits just right. The shirt is very breathable, light, uv protection is a great addition, and has very flattering design. My most favourite long sleeve shirt. I wear this shirt for tennis and golf.
Not bad
This is a nice shirt and I purchased it looking for a comparable long sleeve to the Quadra crew, which I love and can’t find. It’s lightweight and has a nice feel. It’s fitted which I wasn’t too crazy about. Generally a nice shirt but not exactly what I was looking for.
Too small
I am 5'4' tall, 120lbs, 34-27-36. My size is always small for shirts, jackets, and pants in regular fit, fitted fit, or loose fit. This shirt does not stretch and too tight around chest. Sooo upsetting that I took off the tag and now I can't even return it.
Too tight
I ordered my usual size Small and it is much too tight across the chest. I wear a small in other taema products, the new norvan crew LS, jackets etc. but this is so tight, I can't fathom it is a size issue but possibly a production issue
