These shoes are possibly some of the ugliest looking hiking boots I've ever worn. They appear to be black basketball shoes being consumed by some strange leather alien. All the same, these are very few options of Merrell hiking boots that have metal eyelets which is a must have. Fabric eyelets are a built in breaking point to cause boots to become useless far before they should. So it is really disappointing that these boots still have one set of fabric eyelets! I am sure they will break within a few months like all other Merrell eyelets. I hope I am wrong. PROS: Very comfortable. Metal eylets. CONS: Pretty ugly. Fabric eyelets will break.
The insole got my socks and my feet black for days
As soon as I received Merrell's email about these several weeks ago, I was intrigued. I really liked their look and style; plus being waterproof was also a benefit. As soon as I saw that they had gone on Merrell's Holiday discount, I grabbed a pair at a great price. I've been wearing Moabs for years and they have all been exceptional. I did notice that the footbed under the ball of my foot seemed to be a bit thinner than my other Moabs. However, it might simply be that these Moab 3 Luxe have a more aggressive tread. Either way, after a day or so the footbed cradled to my foot, and I've been delighted. I still do need to get used to the newer thinner slightly flatter laces, and do wish they were a few inches longer.
No breakin period. Excellent quality. I would recommend. A bit pricey but otherwise great quality and worth the price tag. Very little is worth it these days!
The quality of the shoe was excellent but just wasnāt wide enough to get foot inside! Too narrow
Nice shoes. Very comfortable when going to hiking.
