Warm and functional
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this skiing in 20F+ weather (I already had a thicker balaclava for colder temps). I purchased this for days where it is too cold to not cover my face, but above 20F. The material is soft and comfortable and for the temperature range I chose to use it for, was plenty warm enough. I like the hinged design, although I wish, as others have noted, that it was reversed in order - neckwarmer outside of the hat - rather than hat over the neckwarmer, as this would make it easier to manipulate. That would be my only drawback though. Otherwise, the balaclava is warm and works great.
I would buy this product again in a different color!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this balaclava! Wore this during our work trip to Chicago in January when the temps went down to the negatives. It really protected me from the freezing cold, but I highly recommend pairing this with an insulated jacket for more protection!
Fits small
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Size up. The S/M is more for big kids. I've used it for skiing, and though it's initially a tight-but OK fit-my ears get exposed progressively over time since there is not enough fabric to cover them. The only upside to this is that it has a ponytail hole in the back, which is great to prevent my hair from sticking to my neck while skiing. Perhaps sizing up would have been better, but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend purchasing at full price since there are better options at a lower price point.
I LOVEEEE FUTUREFLEECE!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm absolutely obsessed with this material, build, and quality!! So light, comfortable, breathable, and surprisingly warmer than you'd expect considering it's weight and feel. Not the warmest material for extreme cold conditions, but perfect for all-purpose wear on the mountain! Not sure if it's just my head fit, but for me it runs a bit tight! Would recommend trying out the bigger size if possible, or trying both and deciding which fits better for you're preferences!
Good choice but not perfect
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Futurefleece is warmer and more breathable than Merino wool. I do wish that the hinge was inverted so that the jaw side was on top. This would make it easier to put up and down with a snowboard/ski helmet on. The material on the ears seems a little over-designed. Makes a lot windbreaker-like noise right in your ears.
I like it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for those super cold or sleet/snow days on the slopes. Vents moisture out of your nose and mouth without creating a huge frozen/moist spot. Theres still some moisture, but not as much as a typical balaclava or neck gaiter. Would recommend
I LOVEEEE FUTUREFLEECE!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love FutureFleece!! I'm HOOKED!! Definitely not the warmest Balaclava out there for the freezing/sub-freezing temps, but still so versatile for cold & warmer conditions and can be layered with gaiters for extra warmth!
Works good and I would buy it again
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This works great during those months of the winter that burns your face with cold. The only set back is that I have a lot of hair so the top part could barely hold my hair.
Terrible Fit
First let me say the quality of this Balaclava is great, but unfortunately the sizing of the face cover is too tight, with no option to stretch out. Size: L-XL
Great thin gaiter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lighter gaiter, so not super warm. But keeps wind out and fits well. Would buy again, but just know it's not really for sub 20F weather if you like to toasty
