Features

  • Hardbody outer shell extends to the inside of the helmet to enhance durability without excess bulk
  • Lightweight, stable and comfortable, the highly adjustable Roc Loc 5.5 Mips® Fit System allows you to quickly and easily tune fit tension and fore/aft tilt using a single hand
  • Integrated Mips® brain protection system; the goal of integrated Mips®-equipped Giro helmets is to reduce rotational forces
  • Giro believes that helmets equipped with Mips® technology can reduce the amount of rotational force that may be transferred to a rider's brain in certain impacts
  • All Giro helmets are designed to reduce as much energy as possible while meeting and exceeding stringent safety standards
  • In-mold construction fuses a tough polycarbonate outer shell with an impact-absorbing foam liner; fusion process allows for lighter helmets and better ventilation
  • Wind Tunnel ventilation system combines active vents in the shell with internal exhaust channels that thrust fresh, cool air over and around your head and forcing hot air out
  • Certification: CPSC, CE EN1078

This helmet saved my life
Quite literally — a car pulled out in front of my and I had to swerve, and the crown of my head ended up hitting a concrete wall head-on. I walked away completely unscathed. Unfortunately for the helmet, there's now a big dent in in and the inner shell came apart from the outer shell. Fortunately for me, those design features saved me from what certainly would have been a severe TBI. When I got home, I immediately bought a new one of the exact same style, and I recommend you do the same.

suggest you go in person to try it on
bought to replace my old Specialize brand, ride about 2000-2500 miles a seasion. Nice helmet, but suggest buying in person and trying it on. Ordered online and had to go in an exchange for another brand. For me the tightening band would rest on ears as the Giro band is straight and not curved like on other helmets, Also the back tightening mechanism has a plastic triangles on each side that point down and poked into the back of my head instead of a rounded shape around the tightening wheel. If it fits your head shape, decent helmet in the price range.

Love it but 1 star off.

Great overall light helmet with plenty of ventilation and good fit for me. Purchased 3 months ago with light use first 2 months and then a 900 mile bike tour trip that front of headband started to frail/ tear apart. REI replaced and all good with new one. Love REI's return policy.

Saved my life!

I had a bad bike crash and felt the impact as my head hit a post. My helmet saved me from getting a TBI or worse! I had some slight bruising on my forehead from the helmet's internal structure, but no concussion or bleeds. Thank you!

Use size chart, true to fit

I’ve had three Giro helmets over 30 years and this is by far the best fitting and design. My others were sized up to large, but this chart is true to fit. It should last the rest of my cycling life. Older ones had exposed foam susceptible to nicks and dents. The hard cover laminate started separating from the foam and one helmet cage strap delaminated the rubber coating over time. The Rock Lock gets a perfect fit even with a hat or other covers to keep head warm. The bright yellow the best color for road.

Giro Agilis: Protects, cools, and is affordable!

After I said goodbye to my 20 year old Bell helmet the other week, I shopped for a new helmet with MIPS feature, high visibility, and lots of scalp ventilation at a reasonable price. Enter the Giro Agilis MIPS helmet. I did the comparison of various comparable helmets on the REI site, and the Giro Agilis kept rising to the top. I purchased it and knew from my first ride with this HI-VIS yellow beauty that I had made the right choice. The fit adjustments were easy to do, and gave me a snug fit on my first ride. It is lightweight but solid, and the MIPS design is a feature I have confidence in. But the real surprise is in the ventilation afforded by the large number of vents. Riding on hot days can be a real chore if there is no air flow. Not a problem with the Giro Agilis. My head and scalp remained cool, to such an extent that I kept riding even beyond the distance I had originally planned to do. I would definitely buy the Giro Agilis again, and encourage you to give it consideration when you shop for your new helmet.

It works!

This helmet was great for the few weeks I had it. I found it to be light, comfortable, and adjustable. I can also speak to its effectiveness as I escaped with no head injuries after crashing face first into someone's windshield. Would definitely buy again!

Avoid

In 25+ years of cycling, this is the first helmet that I've genuinely disliked. It felt OK in the store, but the more I ride with it, the more I hate it. Besides the poor fit, the stitching in the forehead padding has already come apart (after only 4 months of riding). I've never seen that happen before. I expected a lot more from a brand like Giro.

Great, everyday helmet!

I bought this helmet after the old hand-me-down I had cracked (I didn't get into an accident - I dropped it on the floor like and idiot). I had no idea how not secure my old helmet was until I got this new one. It sits firmly on my head, is adjustable, is snug without making my head feel like it's overheating. Giro seems to be a big name in helmets, and for a good reason. I also love the bright yellow color so cars can see me!
