Love love love
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these a few years ago at a race because I forgot my gloves at home, and at first the price tag seemed like WAY TO MUCH. I felt like they were expensive. But after a few years and many miles these gloves have withstood the test of time and keep my hands warm, wick sweat away, and dry fast. They have become my go to gloves for everyday in Minnesota winters. The touch friendly thumb and pointer finger make it easy to type with out removing the gloves. Also just a note try to start wearing them before your hands get cold otherwise sometimes it takes a little while to feel warm, but even if it is a very cold day I will wear them like a mitten and disregard the pointer finger unless needed. Great product, great quality
Be prepared for steaming lobster claws
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally double up gloves while running. Today I gave them a try, it was 20°F with a wind chill of under 10. I kept my fingers together during the first 10 minutes and they felt toasty, after about 30 minutes I had to take them off because they were so warm. During my hour long run I had to remove them a few times because they worked too well, and I normally have freezing cold hands. I debated giving 4 stars because of the warmth but then I realized warmth is what they're designed for.
They will keep you warm in very cold temps
I have been running in upstate NY for years (1 hr north of Albany, NY). Finally, I have found gloves that can keep my hands fine on cold winter days. I have used them when it was < 0F and they have worked for me. In the 20s, my hands are "too warm" with these. In the 10s they are warm enough, and below 10 F, my hands do not freeze and stay ok. I bought a second pair as I rarely find gloves like these... that actually work well in winter.
nice and toasty hands
I've wasted a lot of money on useless running gloves (in terms of warmth). Just test drove these lobsters in low 40°F's/high 30°F's with wind chill and they kept me surprisingly warm considering how thin they are - I actually had to take them off for a bit mid-run! They are a little long in the thumb on me but I think it's because of the unisex sizing. I would consider buying more pairs designed for women if Brooks comes out with them.
Rock On Shield Lobster Glove 2.0's
Great glove that takes a beating and still provides warmth. After a run I left my gloves on the roof of my car and proceeded to drive off when they promptly blew off into the roadway. A light snowstorm and countless cars then ran over my gloves. I found them later that evening in the street and washed them and they were good to go for my next run. Not sure this your average wear test story but you cant beat their durability!
Good, but not great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although they are better than the winter gloves that I had been using for cold-weather running, they are not as good as I had hoped that they would be. I found that they worked best when I ignored the index-finger slot and just used them like mittens. Even then, they weren't wonderful. They were serviceable. Another reason for the good, but less than stellar rating, is the fit. I have big hands so I got size Large. They are hard to pull on. Now, my hands are big, but they're not enormous. They're mainly big in the sense of being long and having long fingers, so I wasn't expecting the difficulty that I had in pulling the fabric wrist of the glove over the rest of my hand. But yes, it was difficult. So, for keeping my hands warm, they were good but not great. Pulling them on and off was difficult enough to make me avoid them other than on the absolute coldest days.
A pretty good glove for running
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My hands are always cold on runs in the fall/winter and I’ve struggled to find gloves that keep me warm without being too bulky. These gloves are lightweight but have a good deal of warmth. I like the lobster design because I can stick a hand warmer in the glove with my fingers if it’s really cold outside. The tech-touch feature is nice but hasn’t worked consistently with my Apple Watch.
You NEED these gloves this winter!
These are great lightweight but WARM gloves. They are like magic, they work for almost every temperature. Living in central Wisconsin I need gloves for all the temperatures. The only thing I miss is the magnet from version 1. The nose wipe section is nice and having my thumb and pointer finger separated makes me not need to take these gloves off for tasks. Love love love them!
Great lightweight mitts, that perform well in super-cold days.
Great lightweight gloves. The fit and feel are amazing. I expected gloves of this weight to not be as warm as they are, but I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve been wearing them even in temperatures around 15°F. They have a supple feel, and great chamois-like thumbs for the pesky nose that runs as much as I do.
I like these gloves a lot.
These have become my new favorites. I feel like I've tried every conceivable option for hand wear, and these are now by go-to for temperatures down to about 15 degrees, maybe a bit lower. As noted in another review, everybody is different in that regard, and I might be an outlier, but for me they work nicely even in very cold temperatures. I find these to be surprisingly warm for such a lightweight fabric. For what it's worth, I usually have my index finger in the same part of the glove as the other three. It gets cold otherwise. (If Brooks offered this exact same product in an ordinary mitten, I would definitely buy that instead.) Also, my thumb gets a bit cold. As much as I like these, they could be improved by having thicker fabric or an additional layer for the thumb and possibly the index finger. Any finger that is separated from the others is going to be colder. But I've never seen a mitten design that acknowledges this reality, so it's not a feature I would ever expect.
